Well, he has to stop promising a bigger fight afterwards for big money so the fighters don't play safe. You can't show case the fighters to groom the public for a big fight and then have a flat performance.

Do you think Haney, Garcia or Canelo did anything to help attract eyes to their next bouts with those performances? HELL NO. Not to mention the money they pissed away putting together the Haney-Garcia promo prior to the Times Square matchups without even knowing that both guys would win or look like **** in the process.
There's a lot of money being thrown around and I don't think fighters realize what they're doing by putting on **** performances in the process. Sure, they're taking advantage, but it only means a reset has to come at some point. Whether they significantly drop the purse amounts or pay these guys based on performance grade. Imagine that, your next paycheck goes after a performance grade that is also judged scored, F to A. If you bored the f**k out of the judges (and the crowd), you ain't getting an 8 figure pay check in your next bout.
in the old days, fighters would de disqualified for non action.
Did Turki mention American runners by name?

They're far more likely than the men to just stand and rip punches at each other because they only get 2 minute rounds and a maximum of 10.

I have nothing against fighters whose style isn't entertaining to casuals. I can respect a hit and don't get hit merchant.
But they have to accept that this isn't just a sport. It's prizefighting. You don't get opportunities just because you're good. You need to develop a following and bring some commercial value to the table.

Why is the blame always on the boxer talented enough to "hit & not get hit" & not the fighter who's not talented enough to cut off the ring?
Y'all complain, but Duran, Chavez, Armstrong, etc. . .would cut off the ring on Stevenson or Haney & force them to fight.
THAT is what real pressure fighters do.Willow The Wisp likes this.
