  • Could Usyk have beaten Prime Nandrolone Fury from 10 years ago?

The 2015 Düsseldorf version of Fury who dethroned Wladimir, before his 3 year exile and drug binge, seemed to be in much better shape and looked more muscular. I can’t imagine that Fury struggling with Ngannou.

Could Usyk have beaten that version of Fury?

Think I'd probably go with Fury to win a close decision.

No I don't think so, that version of Fury was a lot more muscular, mobile, unpredictable and used high amounts of herky jerky movements and feints. This was before his mental breakdown so he was fighting with a tapped sort of energy which Usyk would've found hard to keep up with. wlad didn't have a clue how to approach the various looks that Fury kept showing and he was effectively incapacitated.

In this instance, skill > size
And make no mistake about it
Fury had his size and the lamest HW era of the sport to thank for his success.

Shrink him down to 6'4" and he's a bouncer in some run down hole in the wall.

Although they are similar ages there's a lot more of Usyk left at this stage than there is of fury.

I lean towards fury to win prime for prime.

I think prime heavyweight Usyk would've beat Wladimir. Too much stamina and awkward movement for Wlad. Any heavyweight in history would have trouble with that style and stamina. Usyk is bigger than most of the 1970s heavyweights and earlier. None of them moved or operated like Usyk. Most of you people live in the past with your rose-coloured glasses. Everything old is better in your simple minds.

Most of the ATG heavyweights fought 15 rounds so I don't think they'd be as bothered by Usyks stamina

AJ is NOTORIOUS for having poor stamina because he's a big roided up bodybuilder, and Fury was fat and well past it with loose skin.

Neither of them was a prime Ali or Frazier or even prime Wlad.

You're not especially knowledgeable about heavyweight boxing, but your spirit is strong.

I observe that Wilder ruined many of the fighters he fought, and Fury was one of them.

Usyk doesn't even beat Fury of 3 or 4 years ago

Usyk might be older but Fury is older in athletic terms, especially living how he does/did. Usyk simply had a lot more left at the back end of fights. The middle rounds where Fury dominated him, a few years ago the full fight would've looked similar. Usyk couldn't live with him in those rounds but Fury no longer has the legs and overall condition to sustain it. He's hammered his body over the years.
