Sweet Hands had skills and a little bit of pop. He was managed well, his first test was against a shopworn Porky Medina and then he fought Uzcategui for the IBF. Bolavita could throw hands but he also was prone to getting outboxed by slick technicians. Even in that career-best win, Plant's weaknesses were on display.

Plant made defenses against soft opposition (Lee, Fiegenbutz and Truax) and parlayed that into the big money Canelo fight.

His resume is fairly weak and he has shown to gas late in fights and not respond well to physical pressure but I will say that he's game even when he doesn't respond well to the violence his opponent dishes out.

I'm an old timer and love boxing. Unfortunately I don't talk the modern boxing jargon but I know one thing for sure. Caleb Plants team mustn't have watched the bout between Hurd and Resendiz. If they did I am sure they would have a different strategy. I am a fan of Jarrad Hurd and I was shocked to see the whipping that Resendiz gave him. I know it was at the 150 some weight range but still this Resendiz is a motivated young man. When I first saw him get into the ring with Hurd I said to myself he's toast. He looks like a little kid. He's not a little kid I soon found out he is more like a fearless little Honey Badger.

Pretty sure this guy worked his ass off and earned everything he has in life. No chance in hell he was ever going to end up in a double-wide anywhere. You on the other hand.
