Just saying... respect for Jermain Taylor.
all those solid names can only mean one thing...Taylor was NEVER the most feared man in boxing.

Jones got KTFO by Tarver in 2 rounds, lost the rubbermatch, got KTFO by Johnson in 9 rounds, lost an embarrassing 12 round dec to Calzaghe...And Still comes back! that's a true champ.

Now nobody cares about Taylor being in the Tourney anymore. But honestly, now that he's basically out of chances according to a lot of his fans, and media, i want to see how he reacts now that everyone has absolutely erased him off the map and sees him as a fighter who will get KTFO from now on.

This is where we will see the REAL Jermain Taylor.

If he wants to quit, then whatever, i'm still a fan and good luck to him in his retirement.
I might agree with you if the man's long term health wasn't on the line.

He's very young at 31, has young kids and plenty of money in the bank. The only thing to keep him going at this point is pride, and that's not worth getting seriously hurt for IMO.

That is the only nagging thought I have that would want him to carry on for at least one more fight, but then I remember he has Kessler in the next fight after that...

          Respect
feel for Taylor. Sad to see him koed with 20 secs left. But could be a blessing in disguise - cause his stamina looks gone and cant **** with these guys. imho. Maybe if he had another trainer he coulda been more creative last nite - cause no denying he looks great at times.

            u have to be kidding.

watch the 12th round against froch and tell me he doesn thave heart, yes he ended up being stopped but he showed tremendous heart. he stayed on his feet as long as he could, when he went down he got back up. he was both tired and hurt but tried to hang in there. he was badly hurt in the 9th against abraham and showed heart there too. he never quits, he fights until his body gives up on him. but mentally he never surrenders. hes a true warrior. if anything he has too much heart, if he wouldve taken a knee against pavlik and especially froch he mightve made it.

I don't hate Jermaine Taylor, but I wonder what his resume would look like if he hadn't have gotten those decisions over Hopkins. He was forced to step up his game by the fans and media because he was viewed as a question mark. After he was out on his feet against Hopkins both times in those fights is why I think Dibella put him on this smaller guy tour like Winky, Ouma, and Spinks. If Taylor had finished off Pavlik in the second round, I don't know if he would've stayed at 160 or not. Chances are, he likely would've moved up in weight and fought Froch and Abraham anyway. You kind of wonder if those losses to Pavlik really brought him down to earth and made him realize he was not invincible. If he had the thought in the back of his mind that he finished Pavlik off in the second round, he may have fought a lot more confidently against Froch and Abraham.

                  Concussions? Can't leave Germany?

His very last fight ended in being absolutely beaten on the ropes, and old RJ whooped Lacy twice as bad as Jermain...

Like I said, there's quitting and just knowing when to call it a career, nobody would ever call it quitting after fighting everyone he has fought.

I will say this though, I don't see Andre Ward posing anywhere near the same risk that Abraham did.
I really don't know. Everyone is telling him to quit, I feel like this is his 'real' last chance. When no one believes in him anymore. Before the AA fight, people gave him a chance to win, a lot of people actually.

Now, nobody thinks he should continue fighting. What is he really made of?

We know he has heart, we know what he is made of in the ring? But where does he go from here.

I'm just saying though, if his health is fine then continue If not then i'm still a big fan of his and i would not be disappointed if he retires.

                    Big Respect for Jermain.

I think he was winning till he got stiffed.

I still think he beats Ward!!
