I figured AJ would want to fight Fury after a comeback fight. Guess I was wrong.

No, I don't think that will be such a good idea. Joshua has aged progressively worse than Tyson Fury has. Fury could still contend for a title and compete on an elite level. If he so chooses to do so.

However, fighters like Anthony Joshua, Dillian Whyte, Jarrell Miller or even Deontay Wilder for that matter cannot. I wouldn't mind to see that potential up either once Wilder gets his act together.

Seeing that AJ is coming off what was a devastating loss, a fight against either Anderson or Whyte would make sense for him.

No a whyte fight makes no sense. He already beat him 10 years ago and he is shot. It's literally a farcical fight. If he wants a soft fight at least fight a new opponent not left overs from a decade ago.

AJ should just get on the exhibition circuit ASAP. He's never winning the titles again and there's a number of contenders who'll flatten him. He's always been popular amongst casual fans so he should exploit that for monetary gains while icing complete bums and looking a million dollars while doing so.

Judging by the cautious way AJ fought Franklin, I don't see him making a statement against Anderson. It either goes the distance or Anderson clips him at some point.. If AJ fights Fury, his legacy as a championship boxer will be instantly erased after defeat.

I don't even need to back up the claim it's just a commonly accepted fact that Floyd has a cherry picked resume full of past prime greats, smaller men, catchweights, rehydration clauses AND he specifically avoided the top fighters while said fighters were still on top.

He would only get serious and consider them (top fighters) AFTER they hit the canvas and slowed down.

Everything he did and everyone he fought were selectively chosen at opportune times for himself and if he didn’t feel he had an advantage, he would not fight them.

The prime example of this being Winky Wright, he called him out and put all the stipulations on him likely anticipating he wouldn't accept, and to his surprise he did then Floyd refused to fight him.

Not only that Floyd never even attempted to become undisputed.

Now there are 17 weight classes, and four/five title belts (if for some reason you accept the IBO), plus the Ring.

The logical entailment of that is becoming a champion is easier and there is more opportunities for said champions to be weak(er) further exacerbating his and others egregious cherry picking.

When Fury came out of retirement last time (or rather when the performance enhancing drugs silent ban was over) he fought Seferi and Pianeta before stepping up.
AJ fighting Whyte and Anderson in comparison is a considerably better pair of opponents, after taking the worst beating of his career vs Dubois. Wouldn't have been surprised if fought someone lower level like Seferi or Pianeta.

The onus is not on me to cite when something didn't happen, but the claimant to cite when it did. So since you seem to be concurring, perhaps you could answer the simple quesiton?

Dillian Whyte needs time to cycle off the PEDs.

He's been beaten by Dubois (badly) and Usyk (twice comprehensively) - there's no point in re-matching Dubois again after a 3rd round KO - if that fight got made there'd be loads of posters on here chirping away that they want to see fresh match-ups not the same old fighters rotated around and around. Anderson got slaughtered by Bakole and Joshua by Dubois - that's a good do-or-die match-up - the winner puts themselves into the conversation for a title shot (although Joshua will always be there as the cash-cow) and the loser can either go back to scratch or retire.

Just for the F of it, I'd love to see Bakole vs. Dubois after Dubois gets pieced up again by Usyk.
