The WBC being what they are, might let him drag out his title with no or very weak defenses until it gets into the 2030's. And he's already the only 8 division world champ that likely will ever be.

This wouldn’t be Foreman over Moorer.
Donny Lalonde was no great shake but that win still holds up for Leonard IMO. I put it more in that category than Foreman-Moorer.

I don’t particularly rate Barrios either but the accomplishment would stand up historically.

Frankly, the BS draw he got in the next fight against Hearns is more memorable.
Lalonde is sandwiched between hagler and Hearn rematch so that is understandable it’s forgotten.

It will be a respectable win if Pacquiao pulls it off, nothing more, nothing less.
George winning the true world heavyweight championship at 45 is unlikely to ever be surpassed as a singular achievement in boxing.

People won’t remember Barrios but they’ll remember the accomplishment, if Pac can pull off the upset. Can’t see it myself, I think it’s a terrible decision tbh.

But I do agree the accomplishment would be a huge feat.

That’s my point. Nobody remembers Lalonde but everyone remembers Ray won world titles in 5 different weight classes, which he was the first to do as at the time as the WBO wasn’t recognised.
