There will be a re-match - Benn just made 5-10 times what Norman Jr. has made in his career until now. It was a wildly successful promotion. The only next fights either of them should take apart from a rematch are Barrios for Benn and Canelo for Eubank - reason being, if either get starched the rematch loses value . The only way a rematch can increase in value is if somehow both fighters' stock increases a lot - but that's not likely

I wouldn't watch a rematch of this UK farce if you pointed a Kalashnikov at my head. All Eddie gives AF about is stuffing his own pockets.

You clearly don’t understand the level of dehydration bro was dealing with. He was sucking down water in the corner before the fight started, look at the corner between rounds 1 and 2. They tried to take the water from him and he double gloved it to keep drinking. That screams this man was pretty close to organ failure at some point during the last hours of that weight cut. You watched a Eubank at maybe 60% at best. I can say that as someone who suffers from something that expels volumes of fluids out of me, it takes days to rebound from that and that’s with full blown iv’s which he didn’t have access due to boxing rules. Personally, I wouldn’t have sent him in there, I myself in that condition wouldn’t have gone in there so give this man his props. What Chris did in the 11th and 12th considering how dried out he was is pretty remarkable.if he had been seen by a non boxing physician he would not have been cleared to fight.

Whose fault is it that money is his only priority? He's spent most of his career begging Canelo for a check when he should have been building his legacy at 168 instead of drying out to 160. I feel nothing for these reprehensible check chasers who place money over health. It's sad seeing a natural super middleweight fighting a natural welterweight.

Y'know, you're not wrong. As entertaining a fight as it was, it also showed both of their levels. Benn would likely be destroyed in a spirited showing against the likes of Boots Ennis, and Eubank Jr has no intention of stepping in the ring with any of the middleweight champions for good reason (he's too smart for that). They'e kind of made for each other in more ways than one, but because of their limitations, they somehow meet in the middle to become perfect opponents for each other. Eubank Jr is a faded force (and he was never a great fighter even at his physical peak) and Conor, despite being game, physically strong and super fit, remains pretty raw and novice-like (in other words, he's just not that good and probably never will be), and yet, in that middle ground between the two, it strangely works out that they're each other's ideal dance partners to produce a mini-classic. Whatever anyone says about their ability or skill level, you definitely can't doubt their willpower or cojones. They really put it on the line tonight and gave everything in the ring. They emptied the tank and still kept going for another round or two. Yes, we'll probably see a rematch and yes, neither will face the No.1 in they respective divisions, but once the dust settles, I do expect Benn to try and get a fight with Barrios for the WBC title (providing he's still a titleholder by then) and for Chris Jr to take on Canelo next year as part of Saul's Riyadh contract (although if I was Eubank Jr I'd probably cut my losses and ride off into the sunset after beating Benn a second time in the rematch as it can only ever be downhill from here).

If Canelo fights Jr., he'd get murdered in the court of public opinion. Jr. hasn't fought at the full 168 for several years and didn't do much when he was there.

As for Barrios, don't expect him to be WBC champ much longer. The fact that he even holds a title at 147 is a fkn disgrace.

Luckily you and your 'Eddie syndrome' are in the minority. These are not elite boxers but they delivered a compelling fight after a compelling promotion. Now we await to see if any of next week's fights provide an equally dramatic fight - it seems unlikely unless Ramirez and Haney go life and death.

Agree with a lot of what you say but the reason Eubank fights at MW is that at SMW it's packed full of LHWs boiling themselves down so he is at a significant disadvantage. His best weight is probably somewhere in-between MW and SMW and able to rehydrate as desired.

correct - he is an in betweener. Like Danny Garcia was between 140 and 147. This was Loma's problem vs Haney at 135 - fighting a natural ww who could boil down to 135
