All that ended when it was figured out how defensively irresponsible Joyce actually was, just like the Polish kid.
Joyce/Kownacki back in the day would have been a fun fight.

Alot of people thought Hrgovic was the future of the division. I think we can agree that he is not. I think Chisora stops him at this point. Joyce is completely shopworn, stumbling about and throwing arm punches and yet the Croatian still goes life and death with him.

He absolutely is not, but it is still relatively difficult to scrap a broken down juggernaut ijs.

Congratulations to Filip Hrgovic. Great performance on such a short notice and congratulations to Joyce Joyce on displaying such a spirited effort.even in defeat.

My biggest takeaways from this fight are: Joe Joyce has appeared to have grown his chin back. He ate some hellacious shots from Hrgovic but kept coming forward.

Another takeaway I got from this fight is that Hrgovic’s power is overrated along with his stamina. Those flush clean punches he landed should have KO a mule.

The Juggernaut managed to absorb all of them. One last thing; Filip’s days as a contender are over. The Joe Joyce of four years ago would have mopped the floor with him.

Joyce has diminished. He missed too many punches. His timing, speed and hand to eye coordination are now all retired.

All in all it was a good, highly entertaining, crowd pleasing and hotly contested bout but the right man won.

No booing, admission with respect that the better man won this Night with the cleaner and more shots. Uncomparable to the prior fight between Adeleye and TKV. The Hrgovic/Joyce fight was at least 2 classes higher in terms of level and tension.

But the Main Event was much closer than expected. Hrgovic started with 3 fantastic rounds with Technical extraordinary skills and then gassed out. With this condition forget it to aim for a world title.
By the way. How could any boxing fan not like Joe Joyce? A fair and nice guy with always a smile in his face. We boxing Fans will miss him. Very probably that this is the end for him.
You are spot on about Hrgovic’s stamina. Which is the reason why he faded, gassed out and subsequently quit against Triple D.

He fought a very smart and strategic fight against Joe Joyce however. He deliberately went to the ropes to catch breathers.

Then subsequently he would unleash a load of clean combination punches on the Juggernaut. I guess it was his variation of the rope a dope.

In any case, it was very effective because he won the fight with his cleaner punches. Joyce threw more but Filip landed more.

This was like two hobos fighting for control of a dumpster behind a fast food joint.

Hrgovic shouldn’t be to far away from his own retirement
Totally gassed after four rounds against the fog that is Juggernaut
Doesn’t look like the same guy he used to be before that beating from DDD
