Maybe Ginger thinks that he can get 200 million or a figure close to 200 million for fighting Benavidez. He was asking for 150 million to fight Bud and he now is either getting that amount or something very close to that amount to fight Bud in September, yet folks on this board were claiming that he was ducking Bud too...

Ginger wasn't asking for 200 million to fight Berlanga simply because nobody was asking for that fight, whereas the boxing community was clamoring for Ginger to fight Benavidez, big big difference.

Well, one guy failed a drug test and missed weight to lose his title (twice) and can't seem to get what he FEELS he deserves while the other is having his way. Make that make sense.

I think you missed the point I was trying to make all together, but that is OK. Canelo using that excuse or reasoning may very well be fake(it more than likely is), my point was that I disagreed with the first poster that I replied to. My opinion was that a more effective method of revenge for someone who has the ability to change someone's life be it financially or by the type of exposure that benefits one's immediate future is to not pay him no mind. That is far greater than getting up in the ring to beat someone with boxing gloves where rules are in place to protect a fighter just because they disrespected you.

So you understand Canelo's reasoning, even though you concede its a fake excuse? lol. That makes no sense. He gave Charlo a pay day, BECAUSE he disrespected him, so he can't say the opposite with Benavidez.

As per the supposed only $5 million without PPV upend Benavidez was willing to settle for, I don't believe it, but that's just me. I don't know Benavidez personally to vouch for his character or nobleness. You might know him personally and know how truthful the man is or you might have spent a weekend with him binging on C-oke where he confessed his whole life to you and professed his pure love for the sport(couldn't resist the joke Oracle, my apologies) and you now trust every word that comes out of his mouth.

Just accusing someone of lying with no reasoning behind it, is poor reasoning skills. Everyone knows how desperate David has been to get Canelo in the ring and take his belts, so its completely believable he would do it for 5m flat. He said it and so did his Dad and Manager. No reason to think they are all lying.
