The amount of money and influence Ginger has attained in the sport of boxing has caused him to become a megalomaniac. He's a diva and does what he wants and more than likely doesn't want Benavidez to become the next Latin/Mexican sensation. You think he's using "he disrespected" as an excuse because he's scared to fight him. Ginger was fighting grown arse men professionally when he was only 15 years old, I highly doubt he's afraid to fight another man with gloves and rules to protect him from getting seriously hurt. I think he's using that as an excuse because he dislikes Benavidez and doesn't want him profiting a cent or becoming a household name by riding his tailcoat. He's c-ock blocking him!

I don't think Canelo is scared, professional fighters ain't scared (gloves and rules don't stop you from getting seriously hurt or dying btw), I think he's waiting until the fight gets bigger. Regardless of the reason, we agree that this is an excuse, the so called disrespect that Benavidez has shown is regular boxing banter, nothing on par with the Keyshawn stuff.

My point was not about Canelo but more so that you can punish someone who you feel disrespected you, by blocking them from making money or not giving them the platform to showcase in order to grow their image. Keyshawn understands, that by fighting Teo, he'd be giving Teo the opportunity to make money and raise his profile, but would rather not give him that opportunity because he felt disrespected by Teo's bigoted remarks/behavior.

Nothing to do with one form of disrespect being worse than the other or equal. The point is that both Ginger and Keyshawn have power to not allow Bena and Teo to make money by riding their coat tails... Not allowing them to make money off them is a greater form of punishment than actually stepping into the ring and punching them in the face.

In my opinion, boxing banter is not as offensive as that of a racist remark, but that's not to say that whatever Benavidez said to Canelo did not offend him as much as Teo might have offended Keyshawn. What you or I might find highly offensive may not be as highly offensive to someone else, or what you or I might not feel is offensive might totally enrage someone else.

My point still stands that preventing someone from making money, whom you feel has offended you, can be more severe than the punishment you can dish out to someone in a boxing ring wearing cushioned gloves and abiding by boxing rules....

I don't think I can explain my point any better, so I hope you understand the point I'm trying make without you having the need to compare the severity of one form of insult to another.
