Disrespected? That's the reason to not fight someone now? You can't make this stuff up. When someone disrespects you, that's the more reason to fight someone. Let's not pretend like canelo hasn't gotten heated with fighters. Remember Caleb plants pre fight beef? I agree. David Benavidez has achieved nothing compared to Canelo Alvarez 'What people need to understand? Is that if Benavidez was to retire tomorrow, his legacy does not make much of a impact on the sport of boxing. The reality is, there have been many fighters at the standard of David Benavidez in every single boxing era. Benavidez is a solid World level fighter, that is it. David Benavidez in my opinion has never shown the ability, or achieved any feats which rate him as a pound for pound fighter or a elite level fighter in his chosen weight class'.
Canelo Alvarez in comparison, once upon a time 'Was universally regarded as one of the best pound for pound fighters in the sport. And even still currently as we speak? Alvarez is for sure still rated in the top 5 best pound for pound fighters in the World. I would not particularly rate the Middle to Super Middle Weight era which Alvarez has competed in as a very talented boxing era. But regardless Canelo Alvarez has achieved the feat of being the Undisputed Champion in the 168 pound division. And unequivocally being the absolute best fighter at 168 pounds'.
Note: It is not Canelo Alvarez's fault that David Benavidez 'Extensively weight drains himself, and most likely does not have the high level of work ethic compared to many other great fighters. David Benavidez has not been a 168 pound fighter for a very long time now. The last time Benavidez fought in the Super Middle Weight Divisions was in 2023'.
David Benavidez as a Champion in the Super Middle Weight Divisions 'Lost his title due to not making the weight limit. Benavidez weighed 2.8 pounds over the 168 pound weight limit in his title defense against Alexis Angulo back on August 15th 2020'.
So thus-far in his career, he has not been a great champion 'And he has clearly been fighting in a weight class, way below his more natural fighting weight. That is the level of his career up until this point'.
I will give David Benavidez credit for being an aggressive and game fighter 'I will commend him for achieving solid wins against fighters such as Caleb Plant. But the only reason why certain folk think? Benavidez could beat Alvarez, is because Canelo Alvarez is in the latter stages of his career'.
To conclude: David Benavidez is for sure a World level fighter 'But when we compare him to a fighter like Canelo Alvarez, you are talking about a fighter who at any given time has been a World to Elite level fighter for 90% of is boxing career'.
If David Benavidez vs Canelo Alvarez is made at 168 pounds 'I think even this version of Alvarez smashes up Benavidez quite systematically. Stylistically I have always been adamant that David Benavidez is a fighter straight up Canelo Alvarez's street. Skill for skill Benavidez is not good enough in the areas of his game, which are needed to really win rounds consistently against a solid version of Canelo Alvarez' etc.

u are completely underestimating benny and over estimating canelo there is a reason canelo has lined up the guys he has fought over the last few years because they are not very good at all and benny is now forced to look for fights with guys like bivol and beter where he is up at their level and could beat them, canelo cant beat bivol or beter and hes proven he fears benny and has no interest in him at all and the reason is simple he has no confidence he can beat benny either, u have misplaced your trust in canelo and listened to his BS, its nothing to do with anything apart from fear, i mean look who canelo is fighting next and he tried to make a fight with eubank and everyone even canelo fans want to see the benny fight not the crap hes putting on year after year

Canelo should just stop talking about Benavidez at this point... Everything that leaves his mouth in relation to him just solidifies the fact that he is terrified of that man; "he's Mexican", "he hasn't achieved anything", "he's 25lbs heavier", he brings nothing to the table", "he's not in my weight class", "he's too disrespectful... Those are the words of a fighter who is without doubt petrified to the bone of spending 36 minutes in a ring with Benavidez. It's just so blatantly obvious!Comment

Canelo Alvarez this MF'er fake as a 3 dollar bill! Yes you have paid your dues but Benavidez has also and let's be real, your ass don't like the size, pressure and tanacity he brings and you don't want to fight that dammmm hard. Triple G has been the only guy with some pop and tenancity you have faced but even he had aged. Canelo have all the Mexican folks fooled like he's this super great, but has at least 2 questionable decision wins outside of the 2 real losses, GTFOH! Straight up B _ T _ H.

Benavidez is a stylistic nightmare for canelo.
A very tall range combination puncher who is extremely unorthodox on his punch combinations. Body and head. It seems every fight he comes out with more punches we've never seen him throw before.
A 5'7 flat footed canelo would be minced meat for neenvidez style. Him, his trainer, and his promoters know this.
Make no mistake they've known about benevidez and the style problems since benevisez was fighting porky medina.Comment
