If he's fighting for legacy, why wasn't it him in with Fundora instead of Booker? Clear him and Murtazaliev, and he's already the only 3 division undisputed champ in 4 belt history, and the fight with Canelo becomes must watch, and he likely commands a far larger purse in it. Then he beats Canelo and retires as the only 4 division undisputed champ that likely will ever be, and cements his ATG status. Surely if he can beat Canelo, he can beat lesser and smaller fighters who aren't P4P, like Fundora and Murtazaliev?

As a long time fan of Crawford, it's disappointing to me to see him talk like this and not take the opportunities he even petitioned for that would have given him an argument for being maybe THE greatest. Not taking them makes me feel like he knows he was lucky to get the nod vs Madrimov, and is going for one last cash grab.

It should be Crawford vs Vergil Ortiz at 154 next not Canelo.

This is a business as much as a sport. Even so, legacies can still be made acquiescing to business needs. If he beats Canelo he will be a three-weight unified champ. He'll make more money fighting Canelo than combined fights of Murt and Fundora.
You forget he is 37. Perhaps if he was 32 he could/would go the route you suggest but even then maybe not.

If the Canelo fight is to happen , I wish that Bud would of taken a fight before
His age and lack of fighting will show up at some moment

I can see why he don't... Because they are hard fights for a fraction of the money and probably not the kinda fights he can get up for at this point in his career. You saw against madrimov who himself is a hard fight and he pushed bud in that fight so now there probably thinking it's roll the dice against canelo for a massive day and it's probably the one fight left in the sport he can get up properly for then win lose or draw it's the end.. I mean ofc you wanna see these great fighters fight everyone they can but he's 37, achieved alot in his career alot more than alot of people thought he would and now he's getting that huge fight to top it off.

If he actually was confident about winning that fight he wouldn’t have said it three times in the same sentence. That only happens when you’re trying to convince yourself of what you are saying.

Doesn't seem like it matters if he's 37... he's always fought only once a year.

IMHO Crawford is going to shock the boxing world, the way Roach did when he faced Tank.

This is a legacy fight for Crawford. He doesn't have much left, but he has enough left to potentially beat Canelo.

Folks wanted to also see him face Ortiz, or Fundora, or Boots. Preparing and getting through these kinds a fights take a lot out of a fighter.

Crawford is saving all that he has left for the biggest fight left for him....in his eyes.

I get it! And I'm not mad at him ....like some fans are.

I'll piggyback this with my personal hope that he goes one step further than Lamont managed, and actually wins the fight ijs.
