I shared this perspective a few years back when Keith beat Mario Barrios after as long layoff. The thing is, I thought that without actually having seen the Thurman-Barrios fight. When I actually sat down to watch it, I marveled at how good Thurman looked; especially with that much ring rust on him. The Barrios win has aged really well given Barrios’ form since that fight. It’s hard to think a guy could take off so much time and still be a real contender, but who knows? Thurman is super crafty.

I enjoyed Keef’s reign but he became a kind of Andrade wannabe with taking and not taking fights
Let’s not kid ourselves , he beat a guy who was undone by Paro as his only notable opponent

Brock Jarvis has a glass jaw Liam Paro nearly killed him in a national clash. This wasn't a shock knockout.

Tuneup or not, Thurman looked like he hadn't lost much, if anything, since he was last in the ring.

                Thurman stops Tszyu. Period.
                Unlikely.

Thurman doesn't stop ranked fighters, at lower weights, I highly doubt it starts now.

Brock Jarvis is not a good measuring stick for us to know what Thurman has got left after 3 years out of the ring. Tszyu vs Thurman could give us a better idea of where both of them are at right now.

OK, but he didn’t struggle with him. How many inactive 36-year-old fighters perform as well as Keith did? Have you watched either of Thurman’s last two fights? Go check them out.
