There is just no real financial incentive for Dana and the UFC to get into boxing on their own because its basically a guaranteed money sink compared to what they're already doing. Hes doing it because Turki buys into the whole "boxing with a UFC model" idea and as we have seen is willing to burn money for a higher purpose.

Also do you not get the irony of this "why cant the UFC stand on its own" comment when boxing has been almost completely taken over by the Saudis now? the Saudis have tried to buy their way into pretty much every sport out there including MMA but none of them have handed over as much of the pie as boxing has. Part of the reason is most likely that the WWE, the UFC, the Premier League etc etc have way more money of their own so cant be bought so easily.
    Does the UFC own MMA?
Does UFC generate more than the sport of Boxing?

Of course Saudi can't buy the "ENGLISH" Premier. They can buy the best socer player just like they can pay the best boxers to compete in their location. Boxing is not a League for Saudi to buy. They are the highest bidder to promoters and fighters, the reason they are in the sport for, to make money. Boxing is "not taken" by anyone. Later there will he a higher bidder or money will be generated in other locations other than Saudi.

The point I was making was that the whole implication that Dana is getting into boxing because the UFC is "declining" or cant make a boxing promotion on its own is dumb, because its obviously the biggest money generating combat sports promotion on the planet by far. They pull in billions in revenue. And the money the UFC has at its disposal is a big part of why Saudi isnt hosting practically every major MMA fight the way it is almost every big boxing match.

Why does not one of these big promoters and fight hype organizations take even a shot at and begin talking about how to bring boxing to more fans and to start to look at how to improve the Sport of Boxing. Something along the lines of we want to have Boxing as a sport be more available to more fans new and old. Boxing is now set to place on view 20 fight cards in the next 12 months that are of type where no PPV monies will be needed. In conjunction with those cards there will be the same with four tournaments for four weight classes to be followed by a set of .........and Boxing has agreed to look into any and all of the serious problems that have effected the amount of fights and fights true fights available to all fans of all sport...............We have decided to make Boxing a mainstream and respected sport as it ounce was. Then i would care about what they are planning.

I'm a big proponent of, if it ain't broke, don't fix it . Turki is putting on STACKED cards, getting guys in the ring with EACH OTHER. No marinating for years. I hope we don't go back to one legit main event, and an undercard plucked from club circuit

Dana will just be another boxing Promoter. He can probably be the best at it, but the fighters will gravitate towards the biggest pay days. Whoever is able to provide that like the Saudis, are the ones who will have the best fighters. Just like MMA no one own it. The thing for fans is that we won't be able to see the best vs best cuase TKO boxers will only face TKO boxers.

              Can’t see anything bad here.

Turkish is putting together strong cards, which if you noticed forced PBC to do same this past Saturday.
He keeps doing that and forces the competition to step up- better for us as fans.

Just hopes he forces Canelo to fight Benavidez.

I think this will be good for the sport and fans.

I mean, I think the best thing anyone that owns The Ring should do, is keep it impartial. The second you notice any type of favoritism, that's it, they show their cards and can no longer be considered a trusted ranking/publication going forward.

Let's see what happens. I can't slag it off yet. I'll do that next year. If they can get some decent fighters under contract and put on some cracking cards, it could be a thing of beauty. I remember some Covid 'behind closed doors' cards that were brilliant, even though there were no giant names.

                      That's what they want.
