Tank is cherrypicking AND is protected by paid off refs and ABCs. Boxing today is pathetic.

The damage is done. Nothing will make it right. The ref froze up and the judges followed suit. None of them said that isn't right. Like they didn't want to get involved
In this case its probably better for Roach to keep the draw vs changing it to a no-contest. At least the record books will have him in an even fight with the defending champ (even if its still BS). I dont think the NYSAC will change it to a win for roach, even though they should.......Last edited by Corelone; 03-03-2025, 11:38 PM.Comment

His corner getting up on the apron is also either an instant DQ or a corner retirement. They robbed Roach in 4 different ways:
1. He should have won on the scorecards even without the knockdown
2. The knockdown should have been counted and if it had, he wins a UD by scores of 115-112, 114-113, 114-113
3. When his corner got up on the ring apron, that's an instant fight ender. Either by DQ or by RTD.
4. When his corner worked on him during the round, that's also an instant DQ.Comment

Your absolutely right the nfl wouldn't Do a damn thing but something a few others pointed out is that tank had arguably 2 DQ worthy occurrences so I think it wouldn't be unreasonable in this case if the nysac retroactively dq'd tank and gave Roach the win but I think we all know what is most likely to happen is a bunch of nothing except for some nfl like statements from the ac about being better next time.
No, the NFL wouldnt. They may admit the refs missed the call, and claim they want to do better in the future. But in the end the result would stand (see the Jan 2019 NFC championship).
This is one of the reasons why I like closed scoring by judges. Since it is secret, it no way impacts the action in the ring. So you feasibly could argue that a bad card should be changedComment

Yeah I think if nysac wants to do the "right" thing they would rule it a DQ for tank for getting help from his corner without any sort of timeout or indication from the ref. But what is most likely to happen is nothing except some statements about doing a better job in the future without actually giving any details as to how they plan to do that

Not quite. Scoring a knockdown automatically turns the round to a 10-8. If the KD was a flash knockdown and that fighter otherwise dominated the round, it could be a 10-9. But since it was a voluntary knee, I’d struggle to see how it could be anything but a 10-8.Last edited by dft313; 03-04-2025, 04:00 AM.Comment
