They need to overturn this and score it a majority win for roach. Quite honestly it’s like tank was trying to take a timeout. There is no timeout in boxing unless the ref calls it and the rule is , protect yourself at all times. Roach should have jumped on him when tank was wiping his eye.Comment

OK. DQ. I was thinking the ref was going to wave it off when Tank took off looking for the exit.Comment

I agree, it shouldve been a KD, I agree it was bonkers how the ref handled it, and it reeks of corruption. BUT, since neither party adjusted it during the fight you can't retroactively score it a KD and then assume the following rounds would stay the same thus giving the decision to Roach. Here is an example to illustrate why:
Say their is a football game going on, Home team is up 5, 2:10 left in the game. Visitor have it 4th & goal from the 9. Visiting QB throws a pass to the corner of the endzone which is caught but the receiver was ruled out of bounds. Visiting team has no more challenges and the call stands. Home team takes the ball gains a first down then kneels down for the win. HOWEVER, when looking at the replay it was clear the receiver was in bounds when he made the catch, and it shouldve been a TD. IN fact it was blatantly clear, and the ref made a horrible mistake.
Now the NFL can't go back and award the visiting team a TD, and then say they get the win because the amount of points of the TD wouldve covered the 5 point margin they were trailing by. You have to figure the ending wouldve been different, the home team would've done something different and couldve come back. Would they have? Who knows, but you can't retroactively alter the outcome of a contest based on an error in scoring that took place within the contest.
Do I think Tank would've changed and fought better had it been scored a KD? No. But thats irrelevant, he would have needed to have the opportunity to do so. You can't set this precedence.Last edited by DeeMoney; 03-03-2025, 06:17 PM.Comment

If you assume that Davis wins the round despite the KD, then I believe under the 10 point must system it is scored 10-10. Its an oddity, but fighters have won rounds where they were knocked down in, and thats usually how its scored....I thinkLast edited by DeeMoney; 03-03-2025, 07:19 PM.Comment
