I was thinking the same, out do Tank, don't help him get paid. In an odd way because of Tank's standing a D is more of a loss for Tank and a win for Roach. He can negotiate for much more in a rematch if he beats Shakur.

      I definitely agree.

First, Lamont should file an appeal to have the fight result overturned and then Earn with Hearn.

It's also why he's such a big draw so y'know, swings & roundabouts, but like any knockout artist, when it doesn't happen it really rather is one big soggy disappointment.
Tank is very talented and did figure out a way to catch a person with a big shot. It is interesting how Roach dealt with that: first off, he was the first guy to use bona fide angles. PitBull who had success, used only upper body angles, Roach actually angles off. Roach also reset after two steps back, Even when he dangerously sat in front of Tank. Tank caught on to this and went back after Roach but... this gave Roach time to counter him.

Picture it... Roach establishes the ability to stand up to Tank off the immediate fighting line. He angles off, he counters Tank, or... he steps back one more step. Tank never knows what Roach will do, this slows Tank down. Roach now has limited Tank to having to change his fighting line when he angles back, deal with a counter attack, or take an extra step forward, to chase Roach. My only critiscism of Roach was how he squandered the many opportunities to counter Tank when he chased him after the second step back.

Under these conditions Tank can no longer set Roach up because Roach mixed it up, and made Tank have to react to one of three possibilities, not one. This speaks to Roach actually having some chops.

He didn't give Cruz a rematch despite arguably losing, I doubt he does here either.
Interesting how both opponents Pitbull and Roach, are excellent at applying pressure. Pitbull is more of a one dimensional pressure fighter, he comes in straight on the footwork while angling the shoulder and head movements. I do think he needs to make sure he does not skimp on the head movements... Roach uses actual angles off the fighting line with his footwork. This allowed him to keep just out of range without standing in front of Tank... Of course he also did stand in front with a high guard nat times.

Both guys were able to easily apply pressure at will. Tank does not like this pressure. Pitbull was more one dimensional with it, but it kept Tank off balance physically. Roach, kept Tank off balance psychologically. he had three things he did that he mixed up...He either would counter tank with a shot, angle off and reset back into position, or step back. Tank could not know which one he would do and it made him hesitant.

This tells me that Tank has a real time against guys who find a way to apply consistent and effective pressure. He knows this (no doubt) so yeah... I wonder if Roach gets his rematch lol.

If he does, Roach could really KO him. Roach steps back twice and knows Tank is coming, perfect time for the counter. Picture how Manuel M did Manny P.

Lomachenko didn’t want to fight him last year so we’ll never know.
