You can't win fights by constantly moving without throwing punches. It's very hard for a fighter to win a fight by not taking risks, exchanging punches or engaging with his opponent.

It seems that the game plan was just to move without throwing any punches. In any case, my hat goes off to Vergil Ortiz on a such spirited effort and by fighting a very disciplined and focused fight.

I wish you nothing but much success in the future champ! You came to fight. Where as your opponent did not.
Right, Crawford ruined Madrimov with the hellacious beating he put on him…oh no wait

            Ortiz will defeat Madrimov.
He will display boxing skills (specifically, a great jab) and stay on the front foot.
Madrimov will run all night in the face of Vergil's effective aggression.
Madrimov may suffer from a pro fight experience deficit as well.
Vergil just has more experience, and it matters.
That's my pick and I'm sticking to it.

By the way, the facial bruising is a mix of multiple headbutts, rubbing his gloves in his face while blocking and getting hit with overhands that partially made it through the guard.

He just looks worse for wear than the actual the damage he actually received, he outpunched Madrimov 2-1.

It started off looking like Ortiz was going to be outclassed but he turned up the pressure and by around the 5th Madirmov looked more like he was fighting to keep Ortiz off of him rather than win. A really good showing after looking not as impressive last time out.

Have we seen the same fight? Started competitive the first 3-4 rounds edging it for Uzbek, Ortiz Jr took over and outpunched 2-1 most of the rounds after, as Madrimov got punches scored despite hitting the gloves often, and he did have his moments making it competitive, but was outpunched while most of his shots were hitting the gloves, Maddy resurged in tound 10 and 11 where he tried to be more aggressive standing his ground. But even then he wasn't exactly winning those rounds.

Madrimov won at most 4 rounds.
