This was a close fight. It was very hard to score - especially early in the fight. I scored it a draw. If I had to declare a winner, I had Madrimov winning. But I have no problem with Ortiz getting the nod. He was the champion, he came to fight, and he hurt Madrimov way more than Madrimov hurt him.

Well my guy. Only one judge scored the fight 8 to 4. Two judges scored the fight 115 to 113. This means two judges scored the fight 7 to 5. That means that the fight was close. If you scored the fight 8 to 4, that means that me and two of judges know how to score a fight

And you don't know how to score fights.

This was a close fight. This fight was two judges away from calling this fight a majority draw.

The judges that had it close was because Madrimov was a DAZN boxer, smartazz. Vergil is with Golden Boy. Stop trying to put down Mexican boxers.

I missed the fight but after watching the highlights I'm not sure what you saw but it looked closer to a draw.. I like Ortiz but he hasn't looked like anything special in his last 2 fights..I honestly thought Bud would KO a guy like Bohachuk and Ortiz was getting knocked down by him.

Bud would likely KO Ortiz because he gets overzealous with slow feet, he has very quick hands and sneaky power but he is not some KO artist at 154lbs..difference between Mardrimov and Bud is Crawford would also be countering Ortiz making him hesitate

Highlights are krapp. Vergil dominated Madrimov better than Crawfish. Not looked special?? Your definition of special must be weird. Who´s special according to you? Crawfish barely handled Madrimov and Bohachuk would give Crawfish problems. Not some KO artist at 154??? Crawfish is??? Who is?? Ortiz is very strong at 154, can´t KO everyone.

Ortiz just can’t win with some of you haters. First it was he lost to Bohachuk and now he beats Madrimov and he still can’t win with you Boots fans who still won’t admit he ducked Ortiz. Either of those guys, Ortiz and Madrimov beat Boots tonight with no issues. As for this one, Ortiz landed the damaging shots and was the more active. He won this one with no controversy.

The funny thing is that all these African haters look dumb when their fighter loses to another fighter of any race and think that cheering for any opponent vs a Mexican is their win, not knowing most races gat along but stick together vs African Americans. They are simply jealous that they don´t run boxing anymore and their style is beyond boring for the most part. The sad part is that they get gift decisions.

Terence Crawford ruined Israil Madrimov or he was never shit in the first place. What a very lackadaisical effort on his part? What the fuck did Joel Diaz and his corner have him doing?

You can't win fights by constantly moving without throwing punches. It's very hard for a fighter to win a fight by not taking risks, exchanging punches or engaging with his opponent.

It seems that the game plan was just to move without throwing any punches. In any case, my hat goes off to Vergil Ortiz on a such spirited effort and by fighting a very disciplined and focused fight.

I wish you nothing but much success in the future champ! You came to fight. Where as your opponent did not.

I thought the same thing. Highlights always shows the big hits. Ortiz was more aggressive and landed more power shots throughout fight. Clear winner for sure. Madrinov is tough as nails.

But the better man won.

Freaking pumped about Ortiz. The subtle changes in his strategy, the defense, and the patience! Bring on more big fights for him.
A lot of dudes trashed him in 2024 talking about one dimension. I am not labeling him Inoue yet, but he has the goods!!

Vergil Ortiz' performance was both incredible and just superb! He defeated Madrimov more decisively than Terence "Bud" Crawford did.

While absorbing fewer punches and taking less punishment in the process too. Which begs the question did the Crawford fight ruin him or is Vergil Ortiz just that good?
