I am a boxing fan. What does that have to do with the issue being discussed?

Enough with the childlike name-calling! I am trying to understand Canelo's perspective and the issue in general. What I believe or don't believe is beside the point. If you want to reduce the Canelo vs Benavidez controversy to ducking or not ducking that is fine by me, but I think it is a more complex economic issue worth discussing and understanding.

When he arrived at the division, he said, and I quote, "I won't fight any more Mexicans" referring of course to benavidez, he only went ahead for the unification after the american (let's not forget that the guy is not even Mexican) lost his belt. So what, he lost the belt? He was mandatory for two years and Morrell jr for three, and he never looked their way and fought a real Mexican after all, of course, another blown-up media star. He is a fraud.
Newflash! Benavidez is not Mexican! He is an American kid raised in Arizona of Mexican, Ecuadoran, and Dominican heritage.

I will give you a tip for what it is worth. Avoid ad hominem arguments. They destroy credibility. Stick to facts. Name-calling is a bit infantile.

I'd be a lot harsher if Benavidez wasn't fighting Morrell soon but I'm sick of this topic. At this point, it's clear that Canelo will never fight him and it's obvious why. I hope this never comes up again but I know it's wishful thinking unfortunately.

True but I don’t know about Canelo fights being mega events anymore. He hasn’t sold 1 million ppvs since 2018 and for the most part, he hasn’t even come close. His guarantee of 35 mil plus ppv upside has been overpayment based on the ppv buys he generates and now that this 3 fight deal with pbc is done, he’s not likely he’s going to get that kind of money to take the kind of fights he’s been taking. PBC probably thought they’d recoup that money as part of the deal with a Canelo vs. Benavidez fight but didn’t anticipate Canelo bailing. They also thought Canelo vs big charlo would do good numbers but didn’t anticipate Charlo falling off the map. They tried with the all Mexico matchup with munguia and Mexico vs Pr match up with berlanga as those have sold in the past with Chavez jr and Cotto, but those didn’t do great numbers either. His options to sell a mil are likely down to Crawford and Benavidez. Other than that, the ppv’s will likely continue to do poorly in comparison to the pay he’s been getting.

Well, i don't see any complexity, I see a pattern. By the way, do you know where your kids are?

As to your question, I have no idea who would pay that kind of money, but a question cannot be answered by another question but by verifiable facts alone. I am still interested to find out, what the "insane offer" was, if anything. It seems that a so-called reporter would ask Benavidez the obvious -- who made the offer, how much and when. Anything else is drivel.
There have been multiple offers made to Canelo to fight Benavidez over the years just google it. Canelo is the A side so usually his team picks up the phone and makes the offers and makes the fights easily, anyway so stop with these silly games about offers, it was never an issue for Canelo in 60 fights but now suddenly we are playing these games.

In fact, Haymon did not even push that issue when Canelo decided to fight for Haymon and his group. Besides Canelo made around 40 million for each of the other fights under Haymon's banner. The reality is that Canelo doesn't give 2 figs what we think. For a grade school dropout he understands boxing is a business and knows the key in business is to manage risk and reward.
Sampson deleted a tweet but David and his Dad have been referencing the offer multiple times since, nothing was retracted. David said Canelo was offered 70m plus ppv , you would have to be brain dead to believe PBC did not push hard to make the biggest most lucrative fight possible for them. You must have forgot why Canelo ended the 3 fight deal and temporarily left the pbc in march, and tried to get back with Hearn. It was because the pbc tried to force to get canelo to commit to Benavidez for the 3rd fight.
