I know. I’m just saying that fight was absolutely too one-sided for Rafael to score it as close as he did.

And the reason was because he was giving Donaire the absolute benefit of the doubt in every round.

That was a 10-2 or 11-1 performance for Rigo. The fact that Rafael arrived to 7-5 for Rigo was crazy. Had no business being that close.

But you’ll never hear him saying how off he was, right? Journalists can criticize judges but somehow feel exempt from getting lambasted when they post wacky scorecards.

I always liked Rigo. I hope he isn't hurting for money.

Felt bad for Rigo and how his career panned out. The guy was avoided heavily when he was at his best because he was seen as a 'who needs him' because he was so talented but because of his style and how he performed in some fights he just couldn't draw enough for these champions to risk fighting him and the promoters didn't see the point of him either. Santa Cruz,Frampton, Quigg etc just didn't wanna know, and the only big fight he could get was Loma at a weight class he had no business being in and even in that fight he didn't really get the payday he'd of wanted.

PBC had zero interest in Rigondux even after years of being a free agent. Zero.

Santa Cruz called him out every chance he got, but when Oscar tried to make the fight, uncle Al bought LSC's remaining contract with GBP.

Boxing purists acknowledged and respected Rigo’s skills.
I’d rather watch Rigondeux everyday of the week and twice on Sunday over Gatti’s caveman-like bar brawls that I can watch for free outside a seedy bar in Jersey.

I appreciated him but I was in the minority. Regardless some of his fights really bored me.

Same here. I wanted Rigo to open up so bad. He had sublime skills, and great power few knew about. I watched him since his amateur days, and was very excited for his pro career at the outset. With the exception of the Donaire fight, it turned out to be a bitter bust. Guillermo stunk out the place too many times for me to care. After all, he obviously didn’t. I sincerely think Rigo is a little touched in the head. He has no one to blame but himself for a career that could’ve been so much more.

I flew into Radio City for that bout. It was a great night. Rigo never looked so good as a pro. His boxing prowess was on full display, and I thought he finally “got it.” Sadly, Guillermo immediately went back to his old ways of stinking out the joint.
