But what is always so puzzling is what happe s after Boots fights. He smoked this Karen dude 12-0 in the first fight because the Ukranian was scared to engage and ran loe a chicken all night. Then in the second fight he opted to bring one of his balls in the ring and fought bravely until he got put on his azz. Then he threw his one ball over the top rope and grabbed his bike again. Why are we all talking like Boots lost both fights? Why isn't the conversation about how Boots won 20 rounds to 4 in two fights? Do you know why? I know why. Would you like me to tell you why? Some of you might be a little upset if i do!!

Seems Eddie Hearn has given up on Crawford vs Ennis. That was the original plan when Ennis moves up. He finally came to the conclusion that Bud has retired himself.

Lost in all of this is that Karen fought a helluva fight. Withstood alot of shots and landed spiteful punches. I think a lot of fighters would have struggled with the Ukrainian last night.

Anyway, Boots vs Vergil is an interesting matchup. Both have heavy hands and aggressive styles and both have defensive liabilities. I'd probably favor Boots but it's really a Pick'em.
I see it pretty much the same way. Both Vergil and Boots can punch and they are both willing to take a punch as well believing they will come out on top because of their superior strength. It will be bombs away until one one them crumbles.

By the way, I had to read title of the article twice. I thought Oscar would be asking for this fight not Eddie. I thought Eddie would keep Boots away from Ortiz at all costs. Perhaps as someone suggested Eddie is trying to cash Boots out before he jumps ship.

Bud rejected the Fundora fight for two more belts at 154 which would have given him 3 out of 4 belts at 154 and close to 3 a division undisputed status that nobody has ever achieved. Why would he want to fight Boots instead when he brings nothing to the table?

Is this based off of Vergil's last performance?

The reason Ennis' defense became glaring lately is his best defense has always been his offense and he appears to have a solid chin and is confident of that. So what happened was, KC wasn't run over and was able to land at will with his angles and timing because he took chances and was durable enough where Ennis' couldn't use his offence as defense like he did against less skilled fighters. Ennis never had to adjust in the past and didn't want to last night. Now he has to. Now he needs to think about that huge flaw in his game before it becomes his downfall. He was so easy to hit last night. That has to change for the higher levels. Never let your opponent spin your head around with punches like that. Gloves up, chin down.

I just assumed Eddie was spouting the typical nonsense that usually comes out of his mouth. I recall him saying he wanted Benn to fight Boots or someone like that next and then a few weeks later it's announced Benn is fighting Algieri.

Eddie only has a short term contract with Boots and he promised a big fight. If he doesnt deliver, Boots could leave. Eddie will chuck him in no problem.

Also it would be a Saudi card anyway. If Turki wants it, Eddie says yes.

You are right. And when he goes to higher levels, it does not even have to be elite, it just has to be a bigger Karen and Boots will have to adjust or suffer the consequences.
