The bottom line is Beterbiev lost this fight and most
fans know it but are too afraid of admitting it.

The fight wasn’t even close. Bivol whooped that ass big time.

Hell,even Alashikh, Warren and Hearn were all in agreement that Dmitry was done dirty by those judges.

Scoring criteria:

1. Clean Punching: Big edge to Bivol

Beterbiev landed very few clean punches while Bivol landed several.

2. Effective Agressiveness: Slight edge to Beterbiev

For most of the fight Beterbiev's aggression was not effective; however, the last two rounds it was.

3. Ring Generalship/Ring Control: Slight edge to Bivol

Bivol seemed to be in control for most of the fight. Bivol was throwing combos when he wanted to, counterpunching nicely, moving Beterbiev around the ring. Beterbiev was not cutting off the ring efficiently for most of the fight.

4. Defense: Bivol

Is there any question who had the better defense?

Common sense prevails! All those who are claiming that Beterbiev won really need to put the crack pipe down. He didn’t do shit but hit arms, elbows and gloves.

The sweet science is to stick and move.To hit and not get get hit. That is exactly what Bivol done by constantly beating Artur to the punch.

Bivol won this fight largely because Beterbiev never put any of his punches together. He only threw and kanded single punches at a time.

In my response, I made it first that I wasn’t disagreeing with him. I made it clear I was responding to the usual trope racists like to throw around about different cultures and religions. You even made some unsavory comments that aren’t even facts so I remind you of what we typically do. We are not saints. And what you are saying about their wars having to do with their religion is a crock of horse manure. We took the fight to them by invading them or meddling with their lands.

As for my screen name, I just picked it when I lived there briefly for work. I was locked out of mine. Living there made me realize what my priorities in life are.

Yeah but the first 3 rounds were swing rounds. While the last 3 rounds was where beterbiev separated himself from bivol by dominating it.

Yeah but that’s not how the scoring system works. You can barely win the first six rounds and lose the last six wide and still get a draw. I think EVEN rounds should not be discouraged as much. A lot of rounds are closer to even than anything else, especially early feel out rounds. You can win a point by landing 6 jabs to your opponents 5 in round one. Your opponent still only wins one point if he out lands you 30 to 15 in another round. 10-8 rounds are discouraged without a knock down. I’m not doubting Beterbiev
was in the better position by the end of the fight but if it kept going but Sports have time limits. A draw would be fine for me. But 8-4 Beterbiev seems way off. Ringside could have looked or felt different I’ll never know. Championship rounds are not worth more than any other round for winning. Winning a round wide is not worth more than winning a round by a C hair as it stands right now.

It would be interesting if you made winning the championship rounds worth an extra half point or full point? each? That way all the damage you have done, all the stamina you have left, looking like the fresher better fighter at the end of the fight is worth more. You had ten rounds to figure out, damage, slow down your opponent so now the last two rounds really show how much work you have done and what you have left. Am I crazy? There has to be a better way.
