Having said that, Kovalev was dominating the first fight, and for some reason decided to be cute and fight inside with Ward (to try to embarrass him maybe?) Once he did, Ward got the best of him. All Kov needed to do was stay outside and he would have stopped him. I believe when scoring the fight live, I did give it to Kovalev by 1 round (114-113) IIRC, however he absolutely gave that fight away, and it's 100% on him.

The 2nd fight, Ward was a much better fighter, he was in better shape, and he was dominating Kovalev. This fight was going very similarly to Fury - Wilder 2. Having said that, he absolutely punched Kovalev in the balls several times, and all of those shots were low. Ward cheated.. and sad thing is he really didn't need to. All he did was rob himself of a signature, dominant win. Instead, he goes in the record books as the nutcracker.
I had Kovalev winning 114-113. Ward figured him out though, it showed in the rematch.
I had Kov winning the 1st fight 114-113.

2nd fight had an unfortunate end, but we're not going to sit here and act like Ward wasn't bullying Sergey.
lot of 114-113 scores. yes the fight was that close

114-113 would mean each took 6 rounds, and it was the kd that won Kov the fight

Ward busted up Kov good with bodyshots as early as the 1st half of the 1st fight

      he landed some nasty bodyshots

Bivol has more power than Ward and will be facing another Russian destroyer tomorrow!

I had Kovalev slightly ahead in the first fight and I was disgusted with Ward’s low blows in the rematch. Lost all respect for him and the ref who let him get away with it.

he fought his entire career like that, actually even in the olympics he cheated nonstop. it was pretty amazing at the time to see him heralded as a great boxer while everyone ignored his blatant cheating and illegal tactics. respect is earned and he didnt earn it

I was a Krusher fan, but I saw Ward winning the first fight (there were technical subtleties and effective punches in there that not many people noticed), and - as Iron Dan said - about to stop Kovalev in the second fight, before the low blows.

I had him winning the first fight too myself (very close)

Just a shame there was controversy at the end but Kovalev was leaning right over as well but yeah I guess realistically we'll never know and that was a good fight while it lasted to be honest was good to be there ringside.

we all know if you foul someone and they lean over that means you deserve to win. how dare kovalev react to being blatantly hit low over and over. lets remember who the ref was...tony weeks. hes the definition of a fixer. blatant low blows right in front of his face...knockout win lol

Wait until I tell you that in the secret uncensored version I had Ward three points up at the end - and I was really wishing Kovalev to knock him out, believe me.

One of these days I'll watch it again, and let you know if I have changed my mind.

                      Who said that, you clown?

He wasn't getting hit exclusively with low blows, he was getting beat up, I was actually there, feet away.

You know, that place called "outside"? You wouldn't know about it because you don't leave your keepers basement you pathetic, fat cunt
