Parker hits major setback on road back to world title contention

Kiwi heavyweight boxer Joseph Parker’s comeback into world title contention has hit an unexpected roadblock after he was left off the undercard of the Tyson Fury v Oleksandr Usyk clash in Saudi Arabia on December 21.

NZ heavyweight Joseph Parker travelled to Ireland to train for a fight in Saudi Arabia in December only to discover he has been left off the card.

Maybe just wait until ddd fights Zhang and then you fight the winner?

Too many deserving contenders and too few "world title" belts available to challenge for?
      What a novel approach!

Parker; like DDD, is young enough to have been resurrected; will get his shot at something, because he's earned it.

Ditto for Kayabal, Zhang and Bakole.

      A stacked division!

Wouldn't a nice tourney be wonderful? These guys seem committed to fighting each other, and it would really make thigs right!

I’d like to see Dubois vs Parker next.

A Super Series Heavyweight tournament would be amazing

            Seed 1 - Usyk
            Seed 2 - Fury
            Seed 3 - Dubois
            Seed 4 - Parker
            Seed 5 - Bakole
            Seed 6 - Zhang
            Seed 7 - Kabayel
            Seed 8 - AJ

Not gonna happen but hypothetically with those seeding I'd flip Kayabel and AJ, Parker with Zhang just to give an extra storyline to R1.

In that case R1 would be: 1.Usyk-8.Kayabel, 2.Fury-7.AJ (UK frenzy!), 3.Dubois-6.Parker (the younger competition by comparison), and 4.Bakole-5.Zhang (BIG power!). Followed by R2 of 1.Usyk-Bakole/Zhang, 2.Fury-Dubois/Parker

He's earned his position... but how does he cash it in without a fight?

He's in an awkward position - he's probably due a 'keep busy' fight after two big fights, but he's not a big enough draw for anyone to watch. The titles are tied up so he can't get the biggest fights just yet.

So it was either take on yet another contender or be inactive. I don't think inactivity was the right call.

I'm calling Hearn, Warren and Turki shenanigans to manipulate fights for Fury, Dubois and Joshua.

The last thing they need is a legit threat laying claim to the trash belts they're wanting to hold ransom.
