I think 6 is fine. An 8 man tourney would have taken at least 2 years. I think it'll be hard enough to keep the tourney together as it is.

Agree although i rank Abraham next to kessler at number 2. It's ****** not to even include him in top 10.

i think the reason AA is not in the top 10 is because he hasn't really done anything at that weight (no a win over miranda at 166 doesn't count). however after tomorrow night i expect to see him in the top 10 win/lose/draw because his entire body of work (i.e. his MW days as well deserves some respect.

i would have flipped ward and dirrell, i think dirrell might accomplish more and has more in his locker but right now that win over miranda alone is enough for ward to be ranked higher.

i still think alan greene deserves to be in the top 10. i just wish he could get his head outta his ass and take on a top 10 guy.

It's a fair argument either way. I see your point (I don't do the rankings, BTW... though I have no problem with Cliff waiting until 10/17 to see where to place Abraham),

But a good read still. Nice to have the take from those 2 knowledgeable guys although the opening line from the no.2 guy always is: I agree 100% with Jake/Cliff....
Ah, not true. I disagreed with Cliff's take on Balzsay.

We can't help it if we were dead-on accurate with the other nine.

I think it's very close between Bute and Froch, and would consider Froch the number 2 in the division should he clearly defeat Dirrell, particularly if Taylor beats AA (which makes Froch's recent win look better).

Will this be updated soon after this weekend's action or will you be moving on to other divisions?

Moving on. Cliff picks a division each month, and we go from there.

The ratings, of course, will be regularly updated, but no this article and its content won't change.

Me too homey, but beggars can't be choosers haha.

I'll take any sort of unification/tournament I can get at this point.

While there is always rich argument to be had about just which of boxing’s seventeen weight divisions is the best, what is happening at Super Middleweight will allow it a special place in the argument…especially if the thing can hold together as intended. What I want to know is why Bute was excluded in the first place. Has anyone investigated this? What do Showtime say when asked? Just "no comment"? If so, they shouldn't be allowed to get away with that, IMO, they should be pressed about it at every opportunity and every press conference until they open up about it. And what has Bute said about it?

Bute's people said they were never invited to be in it, and Showtime confirmed it.

I can only guess the reason why. Perhaps they wanted an equal number of Americans and Europeans, and he was considered less important than AA and the belt holders. It's also possible that the rumours of him being unreasonable in negoations with Froch and Taylor are true. Those are just rumours though, of course.

So basically...I'm not sure. I would've preferred to have him there though.
