  • Turki is hiacking boxing

How long is it a ago there was a meaningful fight ? I only remember Usyk Fury but the rest is all pretty stale. Would boxing be really in a worst state if Turki wasn't involved ? It is all a big show to promote Saudi. Turki leaving is best for boxing because he is BARELY making any more fights that otherwise would happen, only wants cheap attention.

We're getting Fury v Usyk twice this year, along with Bivol v Beterbiev. There's 3 undisputed fights that may not have happened without him.

Then we had the likes of Parker, Wilder, Hrgovic, Dubois, Zhang, Ruiz, Miller etc all willing to get in the mix and make fights, rather than fighting nobodies or being inactive

AJ v Dubois next week is a very decent fight. AJ's biggest test since Usyk beat him. Dubois in good form.

The usual divas like Tank and Canelo will be difficult because they dont want fights they might lose for any amount. But others are willing to do competitive fights and we're seeing that on undercards too.

Probably the dumbest take I’ve seen in a while, even for your standard.

lol. TS would find a reason to moan about anything. Sort of guy who would win the lottery and complain that he has to give some of winnings to family members

Bivol Beterbiev wouldve happened on its own that fight was in the works since 2019. AJ Dubois is an all England fight, would've happened on its own as well. The only difference is Flubber Fury is keeping the division hostage and Turki is playing along. There isn't that much of a difference.

No it really wouldn’t. Bob Arum has as much as admitted it.

It was “in the works” since 2019…You just answered your own question. It hasnt happened for a reason.

And, it is happening now, for a reason. Without Saudi’s input, it would not be happening. Same goes for Fury-Uysk and many other fights that have been put on.

I honestly don't mind some random billionaire wanting to inject some money and flavor into the sport, more power to him.

My problem with Turki is that he needs to hire ACTUAL matchmakers because his boxing knowledge as it pertains to matchups is piss poor to the point that he may as well be picking Fantasy Baseball Leagues.

Coming 2025: Tyson Fury vs Nick Ball - he has that kind of mindset.
