Munguia is on a totally different level. He had been in with guys like Sadam Ali, Liam Smith, Kamil Szeremeta, Gabe Rosado, Sergiy Derevyanchenko, and John Ryder before the Canelo fight. Not exactly a murderer's row but those are solid guys who have been at the world level.
Berlanga's best opposition is several levels below that: Angulo, Rolls, Quigley, McCrory.
It will be a monumental upset if Berlanga were to beat Alvarez. A far, far more shocking surprise than if Munguia or Charlo or even Ryder had pulled it off.TintaBoricua likes this.

I have a feeling there is going to be a massive upset on this card, but it won’t be Berlanga. He is good in the sense that he’s better than everyone he’s beat. That’s it. If Canelo can’t KO this kid early, then he’s off the decline and officially done.

No one said he was good enough to jump in front of Benavidez, we said it was not a bad fight, much better than Berlanga. The fight was also smart from a business standpoint because Munguia is huge in Mexico which is why it was the most watched Canelo fight in Latin America.
