'I think that the guy is a net positive for boxing , he brings eyeballs and publicity that boxing otherwise wouldn't get , but he's not a legit professional boxer, not by a long shot'.

I think he has worked pretty hard at it &, to an extent, he is legit but if you took away the money & the influencer status & just left Jake Paul you probably would have a C/W with a 2-6-1 record that no-one would've heard of.

For boxing skill? No. For advocating for fighters? Maybe. But he gets plenty of acclaim that is way over the top for someone at his level. He's making money, and he likes it, and maybe he'll bring more casual attention, which boxing probably needs.

Jakie paul helps the sport with promotion and opening up gyms ,but I cant consider him a real boxer when you only fights beat tf up cage fighters and way past prime old legends ,he got beat by tommy fury ffs. Hope Tyson beats that boy up.

              Nope.

He fights opponents that fall into one or more of three categories.

              1) Was never any good
              2) Over the hill
              3) Undersized

The one competitive fight he took, he lost.

He needs to face and be competitive with a legit contender first

Let's be real and honest here! The kid has made loads of money and has a training staff mostly from Michigan very experienced, but they are working with a guy with no natural ability and no amateur experience so he's not developing and it shows. I applaud his accomplishments being a YouTube star but that won't get you to the next level in professional boxing. I also believe if him and Mike Tyson fight it's all business and about revenue because Mike at 60 and in shape would stop this kid. I was in a tournament with Mike in 1984 and told everyone what he was capable of based on what he did to my teammate back then and look what he went on to accomplish so you want me to believe a YouTuber who can't beat top level amateurs will beat Mike. Hell to the nawwwwwww! He's making money and him and his brother have a brand so well done but don't disrespect this sport that way.

I think he definitely deserves more credit. People say he's fighting bums, but most professionals fight only bums in their first 10 fights. I'd argue that he's first 10 opponents were tougher than Terrence Crawford's. Anderson Silva is better than a bum with a record of 5-10.

He's a Youtube star that trained hard and is now beating up UFC fighters. Silva and Nate Diaz are known for their striking ability even if they are past prime. Chavez Jr wasn't good enough to beat Silva apparently.

One has to accept that Paul isn’t doing the boxing thing for competition. Part that I don’t like is if Paul wins he’ll get more credit than he deserves. It’s simple if Paul was world class he would be facing legit competition instead. Rematch fury dude
