Comments Thread For: Does Jake Paul deserve more credit than he's being given?
After brushing past any bias or resentment toward "Jake Paul" the character, it's worth asking on the occasion of Sunday's press conference in New York: Are we selling him short?

To be honest, Yes... I'm actually impressed at how fast he learned the fundamentals... Now he will never be Up there in any division, so the Hype is gonna dry out at some point, wins or not...
That said he's still a Youtube Fraud POS to me ... Nothing I can do about it ...
Yet another article about this fraud, meanwhile so many fighters who dedicated their lives to the sport since childhood and want to fight real challenges get ignored. Yeah I'd say he gets enough credit.
Should he be taken seriously as a professional boxer ? In my opinion , no , not until and unless he's fighting against professional boxers. I don't think that he has the ability to compete against legitimate professional boxers. He's a novelty act. I can't knock the hustle though. He is helping some legitimate fighters with their careers , he pays people fairly , and fixes up boxing gyms for kids in Puerto Rico. I can't knock him as a person either. I am not familiar with his social media career at all. I think that the guy is a net positive for boxing , he brings eyeballs and publicity that boxing otherwise wouldn't get , but he's not a legit professional boxer, not by a long shot.
