In the past 13 years, several fighters have seen their legacies cut short due to various circumstances, or just simply never reached their full potential. Let's call them 'hard-luck fighters' As Sergiy Derevyanchenko prepares to face Christian Mbilli on Saturday at Centre Videotron in Quebec City, Canada, on ESPN, it's a fitting time to revisit this list of boxers whose careers were marred by misfortune.

Badou Jack was the first name I thought of. Bogus scorecards, that gruesome cut, inactivity.

Miguel Vazquez must have had had more rancid decisions against him than anyone in the modern age. He must've run over a black cat on a crossroads when a white chicken was crossing.

Despite a big win for Jack in his last fight, he has dropped off the face of the earth.

I would say Rosado had a very lucky career. Ever since the GGG fight Rosado went 5-12-1 with 1 NC, 10 of those fights being for a belt of some kind. That is a terrible record any way you slice it and some fighters have been shelved for fewer losses, but Rosado always got air time. Add on top of that his bit part in the Apollo movie, Gabe may not have won a full belt but he arguably has had a good career.

Jack is listed as champion in recess so who knows what he's doing.

Badou Jack would be a HOF’er had decisions gone his way.

                He could’ve been:
                Unified World Super Middleweight Champion.
                Lineal World Light Heavyweight Champion.
                World Cruiserweight Champion.

John Ryder deserves a shout out too.

Mauricio Herrera deserved better. I remember him also giving a young Jose Benavidez Jr. all he could handle, back when Benavidez was being touted as something special in the making.
