That happens to most fighters. Very, very few can continue to live in the gym when they become rich. That is why Floyd was so successful for such a long time. He was a gym rat and stayed in shape.Comment

I'm pretty impressed with Andy Lee's work lately too. I wonder if he might be able to help Spence.Comment

He is fearless in the sense he continues to want to box knowing his vision is diminished in his left eye.
I think he knew he was about to take that beating and he still went in there. He is fearless but it won't make him any better in the ring - I would expect him to take another similar beating against most good fighters.
Had he went through with the PAc fight without saying anything about his eye he might have been beaten then as well. I don't think it has sunk in that the reason he didn't fight Pac was because he could not see. I don't get why people say "good thing it wasn't Spence in there against Pac, Pac would have died" - but the whole reason Spence couldn't fight Pac was because he couldn't see. So had that been Spence instead of Ugas, Pac would have been fighting a one-eyed fighter basically.
Maybe if he fights someone who is low volume and doesn't have great speed, orthodox. No southpaws. He gets by Ugas, but did not look good at all early on;he gets rocked anf frozen up in a way we've never seen him. Ugas stops throwing punches and so there isn't a lot coming back from a certain point. Spence ends up re-arranging Ugas' face, but stuff was off imo.
He couldn't see prior to Pac, he couldn't see against TC. He will show up in the ring walks with puffy eye again looking like David Reid did before his fights. Very painful to say that I think It's over.Last edited by LA_2_Vegas; 07-28-2024, 04:31 PM.Comment
