He's probably just another Thurman who loses hunger as time pass.
They only come back for financial reasons. He certainly will not be getting
the same financial package he used to get.

I think that Spence is done as an elite fighter. Too much fun between fights , inactivity, injuries, etc. If you want to stay on top , you have to live like a Spartan. Not everyone can do that once the money starts rolling in. Spence obviously couldn't and once it's gone , there's no getting it back. At this point, I'd worry for his health if he continues. 154 is a division full of monsters , I don't believe that Spence still belongs there. People are just going to be adding a name to their resumes by beating up the shell of Errol Spence.

The hate is real. Geez! Yes he looked terrible against Crawford. Crawfords always a game fighter and if you don’t come correct, that’s what happens. But why is the world acting like Spence always ****** or some’m?! He took on all the guys that are considered far superior in the division at the time like Danny G, Porter, Ugas, etc. He loses to the best in the world (supposedly), and now he’s got garbage? I don’t know. It’s definitely a “What have you done lately” type of world. And he’s not done himself any favors with his behavior outside the ring. But I can’t say the dude is just terrible now. If he can make 147 he’d beat everyone there besides maybe boots. And if he fights at 154 he’s still probably good enough to beat everyone but Crawford and maybe some of the young lions like Vergil Ortiz. But there’s PLENTY of fighters in the weight range that have credibility, and a name in boxing, that I would still pick Spence to beat. Without question.

i don’t think he should fight a Fundora next. Find an opponent that can get you a valid, sure win. Then go for a Fundora, Lubin, Tszyu, type of fighter after getting back on the winning track. Win a solid belt. Then hang ‘em up

Sometimes you just lose the hunger when you become ultra rich. I believe that's what's happened to Spense!

He would have to change a lot of things to be what we heard he was a few years ago. One he would have to stop believing that he was a great fighter already and then start taking a fight every 8/10 months and make the match ups something real not just the price is right deals. So will he get the " Dog " back in him..........well he looked like a dog last time he fought and not the kinda " dog " that we are talking about now........ that dog is still in him and he will probably settle for that little doggie instead of making something dif in the next two years, then call the dog home.....

I’m leaning towards no. His recent career just doesn’t look like his pre championship career. He doesnt fight often, he blows up between fights, he’s an alcoholic, he’s almost unalived himself because of his antisocial behaviour, he clearly runs with a less than stellar crowd, he just doesn’t have it where champions have it
                Pharlapz Pharlapz likes this.

If he starts fighting at least 2x a year till he's 37 and keeps on winning, he may gain back whatever he had lost. I doubt he still have the hunger. He had 3 fights in the last four years so...

I guess I'm in the minority but IMO, Spence beats Fundora and becomes champion and...he'll easily beat everyone but the elite at 154. Assuming Errol Spence is still into fighting, and if not... don't bother reading this.

Assuming Errol is still committed, at 154 Errol would be competitive with the best of the best because most guys are fairly straight forward and predictable.

No I don't think Errol is shot, he just needs to stop walking in thinking he'll simply over power everyone because A, that's what they expect and B, he's no longer the biggest guy in the ring. Errol's punch resistance is still phenomenal, he can hurt you and he never stops coming but his balance is shyt and he is out of position on the inside. Errols biggest problem isn't physical, it's his commitment to continue boxing.

What don't want to see is Errol getting beat by guys he should be knocking out

That said, if Errol Spence comes back I would like to see him with a coach like Stephen Edwards or Vigil Hunter because win or lose, both consistently get fighters to perform at the best their guy has to offer.

That's my opinion... and I'm sticking to it.
