Spence is aware of the fact that boxers' stock diminishes as they get older.

Yet, from what I've been hearing here and there, he doesn't do the things dedicated and disciplined boxers do.

I expect things to get worse because Amazon isn't putting up the money, everything has to be PPV. They only have so many dates and they can't develop new fighters with just PPV, PPV requires name recognition, and the PBC can only recycle the older guys for just so long.

It's true that Amazon is a massive platform that's included with every TV but the fights are not and that's a problem.

Short answer is no. He had a good career. Boxing is a demanding sport on your body, Spence exacerbated that with the vehicle accidents, weight fluctuations, and hard living. He took a hellacious beating at the hands of Bud that would leave most fighters damaged physically and mentally.

I guess I'm in the minority but IMO, Spence beats Fundora and becomes champion and...he'll easily beat everyone but the elite at 154. Assuming Errol Spence is still into fighting, and if not... don't bother reading this.

Assuming Errol is still committed, at 154 Errol would be competitive with the best of the best because most guys are fairly straight forward and predictable.

No I don't think Errol is shot, he just needs to stop walking in thinking he'll simply over power everyone because A, that's what they expect and B, he's no longer the biggest guy in the ring. Errol's punch resistance is still phenomenal, he can hurt you and he never stops coming but his balance is shyt and he is out of position on the inside. Errols biggest problem isn't physical, it's his commitment to continue boxing.

What don't want to see is Errol getting beat by guys he should be knocking out

That said, if Errol Spence comes back I would like to see him with a coach like Stephen Edwards or Vigil Hunter because win or lose, both consistently get fighters to perform at the best their guy has to offer.

That's my opinion... and I'm sticking to it.

I think Earl Spence is lost since his parting ways with his trainer. Any news about who he chose for his next trainer? That's the other thing that probably consumes his mind. He feels trainers want to get paid too much.

solid but overhyped boxer. if he stays at level he was fighting the Garcias he may be ok. Just stay away from A team. should beat Fundora, if he ain't gun shy now

its been over a year and he has nothing scheduled. he cant make 147 anymore and those guys at 154 they are bigger boys they will take the sting out of his shots and he wont have the strength advantages that hes used to on the inside.

I also hope hes made good investments and think he should retire now. I think the top guys at 154 would bust him up. If this was 5-6 years ago and he was fresh pre crash, he could have made the move to 154 with his reflexes and youth and all that intact and it would be a different story but now days just no

I try to avoid making knee-jerk assessments based off of one performance but that was a pretty comprehensive loss. I think there may have been some signs of slippage before the Bud fight as well. There's only one way to know for certain and that will be up to Spence. Regardless, good explanation of your opinion on the matter and even if I don't agree, I can respect and like it.

No. That was a life changing beat down. And he was overrated in the Protected Boxers Club to begin with.
