Your initial post is that Benavidez is to blame because he lost his belts due to lack of discipline. Your assumption is that Canelo would have fought him if he was a belt holder at 168. We don't know that and highly doubt it. We do know that he was willing to fight Callum Smith, BJS and Caleb Plant to get those titles.

Canelo doesn't want to fight Mexicans but then fights Munguia. Canelo doesn't want to fight anyone who disrespects him but then fights an old GGG for the 3rd time (someone he claimed disrespected him), the Mexican/Puerto Rican rivalry has become important to his legacy now that Berlanga is around.

Canelo is a very good fighter who happens to be a red-haired Mexican. He's taken a few "risks" but because of that red hair, he has also been able to use leverage every advantage at his disposal: rehydration clause, catch weights, dodgy judging, non-enforced mandatories, etc.

As you said, "it what it is"....

Now it is too late. After Bivol fight Canelo plays is safe. His biggest challenges would be Bivol at 168 or 175, Beterbiev at 175 or Benavidez at 168, but he won`t take any of these fights and he doesn`t have to.
So let me get this straight. Despite Benevides having the best resume of any current 168lb contender, it’s his fault Canelo won’t fight him. Despite Benevides bringing Canelo more $$$ than any other 168lb contender, it’s his fault Canelo won’t fight him. Despite Benevides bring Canelo more prestige/legacy than any other 168lb contender, it’s his fault Canelo won’t fight him.
Replay that in your mind……it’ll come to you……..that’s right………really ******.

You’re defending cowardice. Place the blame where it belongs. Firmly on Canelo.

Benavidez brings nothing to the table. No belt. No legacy. Nothing.

He is a high risk low reward fight. Cash cows don't take that kind of fights.
You’re making up garbage to fit your agenda. Benevides brings Canelo more $$$, prestige and legacy than any other 168lb contender. Do you dispute that?

You’re defending cowardice. Why are you so against this fight?

You’re right, Benevides doesn’t want to fight Morell, he wants the big money fight he’s earned vs Canelo.

You continue to defend cowardice. Why are you so against a Benevides/Canelo fight?

BRO! That's what Canelo does! He jumps up in weight to go after the belt holders!

From Fielding to Bivol, Canelo is bout that belt life

I'm not even a fan of Benavidez but why even bother having mandatories if the champion isn't required to fight them? Yeah Benavidez messed up when he was a belt holder, he also positioned himself as the mandatory and Canelo swerved him. Plain and simple.
OH, OH, I AM SAID FAN!

It's hard to watch a lot of this stuff go on when fans are misdirect their anger towards Canelo when it should be towards the judges.

Sure he's the beneficiary, who like most of us when there's millions upon millions upon millions of dollars on the line turns a blind eye, but Canelo is just a surprise as we are to hear the announcement of the winner.

He has to deal with the Nevada State athletic commission assigning judges they want to for his fight, and everyone else's high profile fights

Let's also not forget that the Bivol/Canelo scorecards were 115-113 across the board. It's easy to be "bold" when you know the judges are going to bend over backwards to give you every round possible.
