To me there's really no difference between Berlanga and Scull. Canelo may as well have just fought Scull if Berlanga is the best he can come up with. Either way, it's sad that the WBC and WBA actually had good mandatory challengers in Benavidez and Morrell but decided to bait them to 175 instead of actually making Canelo fight them. The IBF is actually enforcing its mandatory, which is good, but Scull is a bogus challenger so they suck too.

The whole situation just sucks across the board. Scull vs Shiskin is a lame title fight, but the champ isn't taking on legitimate challengers anyway.

Even if it's a good Oppent, Example Ennis for Crawford nothing really happens if the fighter doesn't want to fight the mandatory.

Crawford is moving up in weight to challenge an established champion for a belt in his fourth weight class. That's completely different than Canelo simply cherrypicking whomever he wants at 168 and the sanctioning bodies helping him do it.

well they're both undefeated for a start and beat the best fighter available to them to achieve their status - that will always be looked on as better than Canelo in that regard,

I have to remind you the ginger took on 3 undefeated champs to become undisputed man, we can all agree Berlanga is one big ass cherrypick no doubt about that but Canelo earned his status the right way. Also Keep in mind Benavidez won his strap via vacant belt...twice.

Mayweather was the one who helped built his brand and profile among casual fans by fighting him on pay per view.

Had it not been for Floyd Mayweather, Chances are we would have never heard of this loser.

Unfortunately, for us boxing fans; Canelo Alvarez has now become the end of all boxing.

I'm pretty sure Alvarez would have still been discovered and excelled without Mayweather giving him a shot. I do believe that Mayweather set the tone for boxers of today, wanting to maximize revenue without necessarily maximizing risk.

Even Stevie Wonder can see that Canelo will fight anyone NOT named David Benavidez, so the WBC needs to strip his yellow ass, too. This man has held his titles hostage for years. He's not a proud champion, he's milking the game and taking fans' money, without giving the fans what they want and deserve. Floyd called it robbing the bank. I call it robbing the fans, because the fans ARE the bank-- they made him wealthy. So they need to boycott his ass, and not pay to see him fight until he fights David. But that'll never happen, because when it comes to facing the name Benavidez, his balls are the size of raisins
