Regardless, one thing I have yet to see mention in this thread is how the IBF, not only downgraded Canelo from undisputed to unified, but effectively killed the Crawford/Canelo dream match to anyone who would’ve wanted to see it.
Crawford has said multiple times that, besides the payday, the unprecedented achievement of being the first boxer (male or female) in history to be three weight undisputed champion was what was drawing him to Canelo.
I doubt Crawford would stick around at 168 (at age 37-38) fighting Benavidez (if he can even make the weight by then) and Morrell.
Crawford fighting Morrell or Benavidez would look like
somebody playing “Shadow of the Colossus” in real life.
