If a challenge is what he was really after, he'd shoot for Benavidez - the guy Canelo is actively ducking.
Canelo is getting close to the end. I don't understand why he continues to fight if this is what he's going to do with the remainder of his career.

The right fight at this point in his career, and by no means a gimme, Berlanga's style is actually not as straight up and down as Jaime was, in fact, he is much more athletic, and explosive, not an easy fight. It will sell with PR/Mex, will have a quality build up, and everyone is going to watch no matter how much crying we hear today on this website. It is what it is, after that, Canelo can do whatever he wants, and we all will watch that too.

PBC is actually relying on Canelo to put events now. First it was Munguia (GBP) in May, and now Berlanga (Matchroom) in September. They can't even get Canelo to fight someone from their own stable!
