It’s getting to be downright shameful to be a Canelo fan, I’m not but if I was this right here would be where I jump off the fan wagon. Making this fight is paramount to not wanting a legit threat across from you. Berlanga as an opponent is just bad, no way to spin it but bad. You are being criticized for not taking challenges and you go and pick among the worst and least talented options out there.

That’s why Hearn keeps praying for Madrimov to pull an upset and Berlanga is ratcheting up the “I’m Puerto Rican, doe - Canelo gotta foght
me” nonsense nonstop.

Otherwise he would've fought David Benavidez, Chris Mbili, or even David Morrell, but he chooses to fight Charlo, Munguia, and Berlanga.
To be a bit fair to Berlanga, he had Cocerea's eye shut (the referee could stopped it), He dropped Nicholson 4 times, and Quigley like 3 times (they were both out on their feet).
So it's not like he's had a power shortage, it's more like a stoppage shortage, but he could've easily had 3 more knocout's on his record.
I'm not saying that Berlanga has earned a shot at Canelo's title, it's what Canelo wants and Hearn will provide, and it will sell because of the ethnic rivalry.
Will Berlanga be exposed more than likely, will he be stopped maybe, who should've gotten the title shot Benavidez, Mbilli, or Morrell, not Berlanga.

He’s not even arguing about how he’s the best fighter Canelo can fight because he’s the toughest and he’s going to be the one to beat Canelo. He’s not even arguing that. He’s just arguing how famous he thinks he is.
This is one of the worst fighters Canelo can choose to fight at this point of their careers.
I stand by what I’ve said before: if this fight gets made, I won’t be able to defend Canelo any longer. Berlanga doesn’t have a leg to stand on.
He doesn’t bring anything to the table financially, overrated power, poor adaptability, mediocre defense, mentally brittle, inflated ego…
It’s Mexico vs. Puerto Rico and he’s undefeated. That is ALL. Smoke and mirrors.
The general public: “Oh, he’s undefeated. He MUST be good.” *Facepalm*
The fact that Hearns is close to making this irritates the hell outta’ me. Berlanga is going to be something like +4000 come fight night on draft kings.

Munguia is better than Mbili for example and if Canelo fights the latter, you cry babies would say that he´s a nobody. By the way, you can´t fight "names" all the time. Morrell hasn´t fought anyone important judging by your logic so he doesn´t deserve a Canelo fight.

I'm Puerto Rican, and I have no desire to see Canelo fight Berlanga. I don't think that Berlanga even has that much clout with the Puerto Rican casual fans, we know mediocrity in the ring when we see it.
If he's not fighting Benavidez, Canelo has Mbilli and Morell waiting for him. But we won't see those bouts, at least not in September, we'll probably have to suffer Berlanga's lame spectacle, ugh, he's insufferable.PNUT901
