Hearn and Berlanga are trying to talk this worthless fight into existence. But once Crawford destroys Madrimov, the public backlash to Canelo ducking Bud and fighting Berlanga would be through the roof - especially when Canelo-Crawford is clearly the fight Turki wants. That’s why Hearn keeps praying for Madrimov to pull an upset and Berlanga is ratcheting up the “I’m Puerto Rican, doe - Canelo gotta foght
    me” nonsense nonstop.

I was trying to think back on Berlanga's resume and identify how he's "earned" the fight against Canelo. Rolls, Quigley and Angulo all took him the distance but we're stopped decisively by others.

Berlanga hasn't looked like the KO artist he was made out to be since Demond Nicholson took him the distance (a guy Mbilli stopped).

And this is the guy that Canelo will likely choose to fight next.

Where are all the “who has he fought?”
        comments concerning Berlanga?

Berlanga has had great success... with limited opposition. What happens when a
slick boxer with power repeatedly connects? IMO Canelo either gets a UD or a KO.
If Coceres can knock him down, Canelo can stop him.

I've got to admit that was a damn good one liner, but truth be told Berlanga has been full of himself before he signed with Hearn, while he was with Top Rank.

And this is the guy that Canelo will likely choose to fight next.
Canelo wants to fight opponent's with undefeated records whom he has deemed weak opposition.
Otherwise he would've fought David Benavidez, Chris Mbili, or even David Morrell, but he chooses to fight Charlo, Munguia, and Berlanga.
To be a bit fair to Berlanga, he had Cocerea's eye shut (the referee could stopped it), He dropped Nicholson 4 times, and Quigley like 3 times (they were both out on their feet).
So it's not like he's had a power shortage, it's more like a stoppage shortage, but he could've easily had 3 more knocout's on his record.
I'm not saying that Berlanga has earned a shot at Canelo's title, it's what Canelo wants and Hearn will provide, and it will sell because of the ethnic rivalry.
Will Berlanga be exposed more than likely, will he be stopped maybe, who should've gotten the title shot Benavidez, Mbilli, or Morrell, not Berlanga.

Berlanga’s whole argument is how famous he thinks he is, how he’s Puerto Rican and supposedly has a large backing. He hasn’t even proven this by caring a PPV by himself, with a decent B side like Plant, Munguia, Daniel Jacobs. Hell even Anthony Dirrell would be a huge step up for him right now.

He’s not even arguing about how he’s the best fighter Canelo can fight because he’s the toughest and he’s going to be the one to beat Canelo. He’s not even arguing that. He’s just arguing how famous he thinks he is.

This is one of the worst fighters Canelo can choose to fight at this point of their careers.

Berlanga doesn't have a humble bone in his body, he does have a following, but he's no superstar, he thinks who he is.
If he wasn't such an arrogant jerk, and didn't walk around like a ***elry store, he wouldn't get so much negativity.
