Okay so here’s a question. Do you think aspects of the wins have no impact? Like I said Pacquiaos resume is among the best BUT
Mosley was at the end of his career and just loss to Mayweather
Margarito catchweight and completely damaged goods
De La Hoya was at the end of his career and completely done
Marquez wins were big asterisks then he got KTFO to end the war
Thurman was a good win but it was after a long layoff and a bunch of injuries. Look at his career afterwards
Hatton was just KOd by Mayweather
You also have to add in getting KO’d by Marquez
Losing to Tim Bradley
Losing to Horn
Losing to Ugas
Im not trying to take away from his resume, just asking if that stuff matters?
Btw Nelo resume is better than Pac I also think he is a better fighter.
Pac suffered brutal defeats and knockdowns while Nelo has not touched the canvas the first 2 GGG fights are also way above anything Pac fought.
Way to much hate on Nelo here Pac is a much more entertaining fighter tho.

getting KTFO by your arch nemesis takes away from a resume
This is reality
both wins AND losses count on a record
a resume is more than just a list of names face
results matter

How you should compare resumes, is on a fight by fight basis 'Who has the best individuals wins, the best performances in terms of action produced. And then best individual feats of achievement i.e World titles, Unified titles and Undisputed titles'.
When it comes to the best individual wins, the Manny Pacquiao's resume is superior. Pacquiao has multiple wins that are greater than Alvarez's best individual wins 'Marco Antonio Barrera, Miguel Cotto, Juan Manuel Marquez, Eric Morales, are all greater wins than Canelo Alvarez's best win vs Gennady Golovkin'.
Manny Pacquiao also has greater individual performances i.e The action produced in the fights was of a higher level skill for skill, than Canelo Alvarez's best performance.
Manny Pacquaio's run of fights from Oscar De La Hoya to Shane Mosley 'Was the most impressive series of fights produced by any fighter, in all weight divisions since Mike Tyson's first ever Heavyweight reign in the late 1980's. That run if fights had a combination of brutality, high level skill against elite level fighters. Canelo Alvarez during his career has not operated anywhere near that level of boxing'.
Note: The only area where Canelo Alvarez has out competed Manny Pacquaio, is in his individual title wins 'Canelo Alvarez is the Undisputed Super Middle Weight Champion. The competition within this era of Super Middle Weights may be under par, but even still that feat of achievement must be respected'.
To conclude: Overall as you can see, Manny Pacquaio has a by far more superior resume to Canelo Alvarez 'The reality of boxing history is, fighters such as Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Junior are a level above Canelo Alvarez. Oscar De La Hoya and Shane Mosley at their absolute peak, I would also rate those fighters as greater fighters than Canelo Alvarez'.
Canelo Alvarez is a great fighter within this boxing era 'But there where multiple greater fighter than him, in past era's. Manny Pacquiao is just one of those fighters' etc.Last edited by PRINCEKOOL; 07-05-2024, 08:42 AM.

CAP!! you just bringing up those guys because pac didnt fight them... broner, vargas, bradley, spence, TC, porter, thurman, are all consider as the new WW era.. [\QUOTE]
Spence, Crawford, Porter, Thurman were yeah. Of which he fought one.
Broner defintely not, not even a WW let alone a top one.
Vargas could say was a contender, kind of, sure.
Bradley is the previous crop of WW’s, hence why he didn’t fight any of the new ones - Spence, Crawford, Thurman, Porter, etc.
Originally posted by IceTrayDaGang View Post"he was never #1 again after the KO and was just barely in the picture"??? he was still one of the top WW at the time, right after the KO from marquez!! towards his late run where he fought thurman, yes, that's when he was barely in the picture but from 2012 up until around 2018 he was still very active and in the picture. [\QUOTE]
He wasn’t #1 ever again at WW after he got knocked I out by Marquez. That’s just a fact. I didn’t say he wasn’t a Top WW after Marquez, he was. He wasn’t only a Top WW he was a Top P4P fighter after Marquez.
What I said was he didn’t dominate the WW division after Marquez, which is a fact.
I didn’t say he wasn’t in the picture from 2012. I said he was barely in the picture after losing to Mayweather and Jeff Horn.
No.
