Yeah it's pretty good.
On what planet is that "dominating a new WW era"?
For starts, Broner and Vargas aren't top WW's and they weren't of the new era either. Bradley was a top WW, but he wasn't of the new era of WW's either. Thurman was of the new era, and that's the only win he has over the new WW era of the time.
The new Era of WW's at that time were Brook, Spence, Porter, Crawford, Thurman. He fought one of them whilst they all fought each other mostly.
After that KO to Marquez, he was never #1 at WW ever again, he lost to Mayweather, then lost to Jeff Horn, whilst picking up some good wins but was never close to "dominating" and was barely even in the picture in all honesty, hovered around the #4-#5 mark while all the actual new era were fighting over who the next guy would be.
So let's just stick to what actually happened as opposed to what objectively didn't.
"he was never #1 again after the KO and was just barely in the picture"??? he was still one of the top WW at the time, right after the KO from marquez!! towards his late run where he fought thurman, yes, that's when he was barely in the picture but from 2012 up until around 2018 he was still very active and in the picture.
so if going by what you said, are you admitting that floyd finally fought him because he was not the same anymore after the KO from marquez?????

I agree JCC was shot when Oscar destroyed him.
I agree the toll of the fights and addictions taken a toll in Julio's durability and defensive reflexes, but it surprised how well he did in the rematch with a good camp, landing almost the same amount of punches, heavy handed overhands and body shots. He however did quit in the corner in 8th round due to Oscar's last punch combination despite winning the round, that gave him a cut inside the mouth and got rib injuries.
He isn't prime Chavez Sr, but he still beat some good fighters like Randall, Parisi, Gamache, Tony Lopez and had a draw with a prime Miguel Angel Gonzalez who only lost to De La Hoya at the time by UD with a record of (42-1). I would say he was shot by the time he lost to Willy Wise.Last edited by Malvado; 07-02-2024, 04:37 PM.

Spence, Crawford, Porter, Thurman were yeah. Of which he fought one.
Broner defintely not, not even a WW let alone a top one.
Vargas could say was a contender, kind of, sure.
Bradley is the previous crop of WW’s, hence why he didn’t fight any of the new ones - Spence, Crawford, Thurman, Porter, etc.

He wasn’t #1 ever again at WW after he got knocked I out by Marquez. That’s just a fact. I didn’t say he wasn’t a Top WW after Marquez, he was. He wasn’t only a Top WW he was a Top P4P fighter after Marquez.
What I said was he didn’t dominate the WW division after Marquez, which is a fact.
I didn’t say he wasn’t in the picture from 2012. I said he was barely in the picture after losing to Mayweather and Jeff Horn.

Pacquiao by a LARGE margin.
Unlike Floyd & Canelo, Pac didn't get to cherry pick when & where he got to fight all of his best opponents.
Guy hasn't fought in his home country, in almost 20 years.
He fought damn near everybody, usually in their home country or in a neutral site.
Guy's an ATG
