(Dibella on his own is inexperienced in making these types of fights, let alone in Australia. So he needed either Hearn or Arum.) The Ukraine war broke and everything fell into place for Top Rank/ESPN, and of course, Haney.
That was probably the time when DAZN's money was getting depleted and they wanted no more fights on charity.

"a figure well under Haney’s current earning power." His earning power without Ryan Garcia isn't very much. He better get used to it. Nobody is willing to pay for Haney vs TBA. He isn't a star. He isn't exciting.

Eddie was actually ticked off because the Haney’s never gave either him or Matchroom a piece of the action. He wanted future options on all of Devin’s fights but they wanted to remain free agents and keep all the dough for themselves which makes them very smart businessmen while being self-managed and self-promoted.

An old saying - "there's a cost to be the boss."

Hearn bent over backwards for Haney and received very little reward - the revenue from being co-promoter of Garcia-Haney likely didn't make up all DAZN/Matchroom invested in Haney on his come-up.

At some point, you have to cut your losses if you aren't getting paid. Hearn doesn't have unlimited funds anymore, can't throw money away on a fighter that wont sign with him.

Except they are not really self-promoted, are they? Haney had a good run with DAZN when they had their truckload of money, but that's dried up and reality is catching up to him. Without a true marquee star opponent, Haney is a 2nd-tier attraction.

And it wouldn't have sold. Might as well put a Shakur - DLS rematch on the undercard. Similar level of value there.
The Shakur - DLS rematch will be on the undercard of Tank and Loma in November. Shakur will sign with PBC this summer. Bank on it!

Generally Eddy is a tightwad, no explanations given. I am thinking maybe Eddy is feeling bad for Haney, but that is not in Eddys nature. Then again Eddy did say it was all Haneys fault, thats a foul.

Haney should be fondling Eddie’s sack considering how much overpaying Hearn did in the fights he’s promoted for him.

Many of them are promoters in name only. But some are actually organizing whole events like Cotto and others. And just recently Danny Garcia was supposed to stage his own and secured a date, I don't know what happened with that.
