Why so much hate for Haney? He's obviously a very talented, world class fighter who pushed himself against top competition at a young age. Show some respect!

So if we disregard laws for a second... Would anybody disagree that rehydrating artificially, coming in more than 10 lb a weight class above for a fight, in principle has an equal kind of measure as taking nutritional enhancements? Even those that put on muscle artificially? They are both artificial means and both give one fighter and artificial advantage.

One is legal and one's illegal.

It means some people have genetic differences. Similar to how Hagler and GGG spent over a dozen years at MW, always making 160.

Cheating means you violated the rules. Rehydrating doesn’t violate any rules.

It seems the majority of people using the terms weight bully or cheat are mad that a fighter beat someone they like.
I'll just agree to disagree. There's nothing genetic about finding an artificial means to rehydrate to such an extent that you have a major advantage over your opponent. It has the same principles and characteristics as nutritional enhancement. One such enhancement being steroids.

Makes little difference they still hydrated 10lbs or more in 12 hrs, its the reason they changed the rules because fighters where fighting semi dehydrated which increased the risk of brain damage.

The only way around it is to have no hydration window at all, weighin right before the fight, but you will have a lot of cancelled events with fighters blowing it on the scales with an hour to go.

As its always been in fighting the biggest man in a fight has an advantage and when they have weighed many hours before fight time, people will go to extreme lengths to get that advantage, it can easily be like a 5lb or more weight advantage giving an equal boost the same as being the same size and on Peds, its the reason why a guy moving up historically does well even when they lose, a guy moving down historically gets beat and badly, People rant and rave about Peds but weight can actually give the same advantages, like F1 race cars little things can matter a lot.

I believe it will close the gap and guys will be more prone to fight at their most efficient weight

People don't like nepo babies and that's what Haney def is (and most american fighters are that have an association with Floyd).

People are way way more likely to love a guy that built himself up from nothing like Pacquiao or Usyk for example. The Rocky story is deeply ingrained in boxing ans those that are deemed to have everything handed to them and rig the game in their favour will be a lot less likely to be loved/liked.

              Pacquiao/Usyk:

              - Road warriors that rarely if ever DONT fight in their opponent's back yard.
              - usually if not always the smaller man.
              - often times took way lesser pay to take their opportunity with both hands
              - exciting style always give the fans what they want
              - Iron jawed warriors

              Haney:
              - usually if not always fighting in his own country, with hometown ref, judges and media.
              - usually if not always the bigger man (rehydrating to 160+ to fight lightweights)
              - cries, whines and cancels fights if he doesn't get paid what he thinks is enough
              - very boring style, pioneered the lead-clinch. Can't crack an egg despite outweigh opponents by 30 pounds.
              - Glass jawed fraud

              I rest my case.

The problem is that he did not beat Lomachenko. Ask who the racist is when having the proof in front of their own eyes and still come with BS like this.

Yes he did. It was a close fight. Get over it.

Haney has no control over the judges scoring. If you’re upset that he won, take it up with them.

You holding that against Haney, a dude that didn’t duck Loma, fought Ryan, after taking a crap deal and a rematch on the road is ridiculous.

                    This is complete BS.

Haney signed with TR to get fights he wanted. He took a crap deal, including a BS rematch clause, fighting on the road, to earn and defend the title. Since then he’s defended against Loma, seen as the 2nd best LW, and then fought Ryan. Clearly he isn’t ducking anyone.

He is doing all the things posters like you claim they want done. It’s clear you hate him just because he’s an American.

                    Just be honest about it.

Lets see how he fares at 140, he is already ducking Catterall, Lopez and skipped the Sandor fight.
