It's a real tough one to figure out. Both AJ and Fury have faced similar competition. Based on the fact that Fury did better against Usyk I would still keep him 2. Beating Franklin, Helenius, Wallin and Ngannou is not exactly murderers row coming off two defeats against Usyk. Not saying Fury's competition is any better but I would not say it is worse. However I think AJ is in a better spot mentally. Let's see AJ beat someone like Zhang, DDD or Parker again before we judge who is really #2.

AJ hasn't beaten Parker since Fury came back or Whyte and he's also been beaten by Usyk and Ruiz in that same time.

Also Wilder maintained his #1 spot after both losses to Fury, Fury loses his belt to arguably the best heavyweight of this era and he's instantly below AJ in the rankings of the sanctioning body he was champion of...

The right palms have been greased that's for sure or there is clear favoritism for fighters with more melanin.
"arguably the best heavyweight of this era" STOP RIGHT THERE because THAT assumption is in your head and has no resemblance to reality.

Wilder was never the best heavyweight of any era, he was a guy that fought in house old men and nobodies. Francis Ngannou also has power like Wilder and twice Wilder's skill set and we all saw how that worked out. Wilder was protected, simple as that and that is not a bias opinion, it's just intellectual honesty.

It won't matter if Fury can win rematch
For the record...I think Fury has a very, very good chance to win the rematch, and he should be the favorite. Fury has the tools and style to beat Usyk and if he doesn't it's because he doesn't have the discipline.

That said, styles make fights and I expect Fury to stay far away from Joshua.

I still want to see it. Fury neither has the power nor the conditioning to beat this current form AJ. I question if Fury ever would’ve beaten him.

The real reason is Fury never fights anyone and he got exposed against Ngannou. It's only his huge size that normally makes the difference - something he was able to use in the Usyk fight - which was why it was close.

The Fury delusion is tough to kick. Usyk outboxed and outworked Fury for 9/12 rounds. He also beat that fat ass hole from pillar to post and was robbed of a knockout, so how anybody could assert that Fury should be the betting favorite in the rematch after drinking himself into a stupor for six months is beyond even my comprehension.

In 24 rounds AJ never looked as bad as Fury did against us sick in round nine. This narrative that Usyk- Fury was a close fight is complete fantasy.
