Looking forward to this as a straightforward boxing match, but also hoping for at least a whiff of resolution to the Big Baby hype question.
Not just because we all wanna know if he's for real, or a poser, or somehow not mentally composed enough to be elite, but also because I don't want to have to spend the energy making snarky comments on message boards about him more than I already do. It's reflexive.

About Billions (About Outta Money) and the periodic Ryan Garcia screw-ups are more than enough to satisfy my snark habit.
I'll also admit to rooting for Bakole if only because he has labored in relative obscurity compared to Big Baby and can use the exposure this fight will bring.

Getting a strong feeling Bakole will end up exposing Jared deficiencies, maybe even possible KO loss coming his way, Jared better show us something special on Saturday to keep up with the hype.

Anderson once said that he's not going to be in boxing for very long and was planning his exit strategy. World champions are not made of this type of mindset.

Yeah, I have a similar feeling. I think Top Rank is dumping him in the deep side of the pool to see if it's worth investing in him with all of his issues. They've done this before when they begin to question a fighter in their stable for whatever reason.

Makes good business sense. A loss for Anderson doesn't automatically tank his prospects if he is legit. It depends how he loses and of course if he can learn from it. Most of the ATGs have at least one loss on their records (and no, I'm not suggesting Anderson is ATG material).
BUT - if he stinks up the joint or is totally exposed somehow, better to preserve the TR brand than waste it on wishful thinking and unstable personalities.

It's a big gamble though. There's always money in a US Heavyweight with a good record. And the division needs one.

My sense is that this is a proper match up. It's no gift to Anderson and he'll have to be a legitimate top 10 to pass the test.

"he'll ve a champion, he'll work his chin out at the gym"
You stoopid? There not a trainer in the world that can fix a chin issue(we don't really if he's truly chinny) ..acting like he's going 36 minutes or less without getting cracked
Vlad Klitschko had chin issues. Emanuel Steward developed a strategy for him to minimize getting hit on the chin. Boring, but effective. Steward did the same for Lennox Lewis after he got starched twice.

Some people get caught clean, it happens. Anderson hasn't looked chinny thus far.

Steward took over as Lewis’ trainer right after the McCall fight. He was McCalls trainer for that upset. Lennox got caught against Rahman out of shape & showed up in South Africa on fight week. He totally disregarded Rahman.
