You think either Ortiz or Wilder would have fared any better than Ibragimov against Klitschko? Haye was also a champ at HW, as was Ibragimov…and yes that record is what makes Ibragimov far better than the likes of Helenius, Breazeale, Szipilka, Washington and the countless of other similar names on Wilder’s record. Now care to break down Ortiz’s resume as well?

You don’t need to explain how that beatdown isn’t good for someone’s health, but the fact that Wilder got destroyed in that manner in the first place without bouncing back is very telling and 100% counts against him in the HoF argument.

Yes they would have. Did Ibragimov even land 1 single punch the entire fight against Wlad? One of the worst title fights I've ever seen, all I remember is Ibagimov crouching underneath a clinching Wlad for 36 minutes, with most people blaming the big man for the Sultan crawling underneath him in fear. A performance so shameful the man simply retired to save some face. Ortiz' record isn't good other than his win over Jennings, I'd say it's equal to Sultan's but more importantly it's the eye test. Ortiz has better skills from the Cuban school of boxing. Are you the same guy who values amateur careers btw? Because Ortiz went 343-19. Sultan beat several over the hill opponents, had a draw against one top guy who wasn't old, and then crouched underneath Wlad straight into retirement. A guy like this constitutes a good HW era of boxing in your eyes.

Nah losing to Fury doesn't count against him especially if you know the context of the losses. Since I'm explaining so much to you about the sport should I explain to you next that fighters, even the best we've ever seen, lose fights and that it doesn't mean the fighter sucks when he loses? Dubois, forgive me, I'm sorry. I liked him alot since early in his career. and thought maybe he could do alot at hw. then when he quit 2x I totally gave up on him. however looks like he faced the cold hard facts and has decided to go all in no matter what. so let's see how it goes. hard to forget a quitter after they quit. Lost respect for the Breadman after the nonsense he has written about Wilder in this Mailbag; Wilder's career is nowhere near H.O.F, nor is he the 4th best heavyweight of his generation. If he'd have fought Zhang, Parker, Whyte, Joyce. Povetkin or any other HW during those years he would have been soundly beaten.

I fully disagree..there’s a reason Finkel kept Wilder well away from Klitschko, saying he was a ‘baby’ despite being a WBC champ with over 30 fights at the time. Wilder wouldn’t have even seen the 12th round against Klitschko, let’s be honest. Have a read in case you forgot the shameless avoidance, in contrast to Fury who jumped straight at the opportunity:

I do value amateur experience yes, and Ortiz won nothing of note, in contrast to Sultan who was an Olympic silver medalist and medalled at the World Champs too. He was also a slick southpaw with a powerful left hand who had an iron chin and was never stopped (or dropped, to my recollection), so yes I’d rate him as a good HW and better than anyone on Wilder’s record.

Getting beat down by Fury doesn’t count against Wilder? LMAO in what universe? It’s funny how you want to talk “context” about Wilder’s losses, but decide to completely ignore context when talking about his manufactured win record.

actually he flew to U.K and didn't make Russia. but that ain't my point. pbc was selling gact that Wilder wanted fight everyone and say that him planning to face povetkin shows it. but he had no choice. it was that or drop belt. that my point. and povetkin yes had traces of fight dope in him. luckily for Wilder because povetkin probably would wiped him out lol
