My recollection is that Bute was incredibly highly regarded. He chose to sit out the 'Super six' but a lot of 'boxing experts' were convinced he was top man at 168. After Froch basically tore him to pieces I remember both Ward & Dirrell were just laughing, saying 'you thought you were too good for us Lucien'. Bute was the ultimate hype-job but, fair play, it took Froch to prove that. I think Froch had a load of great wins v Pascal, v Taylor, v Bute & v Groves. Probably the best, IMO, was Taylor. He was being owned, outclassed by Jermain & he just kept coming & pulled out a savage KO victory. That night ended Jermain Taylor, he just was never the same, & Jermain was an exceptional boxer.

Watched that Taylor fight, dogged determination. Taylor was undisputed, now holding people up with a *******.

Froch fought the best. Just like AJ, What are you on about? Froch only had 23 fights before facing Pascal. From there it was quality all the way. But it's not surprising coming from a class A idiot like yourself.

Froch didn't get the exposure until Hearn picked him up later in his career and put him on Sky Sports. So your "Marketing" nonsense quite clearly isn't true.

I remember that, before, Taylor came over as quite a thoughtful, calm guy. I honestly think that Froch KO did him a lot of harm. Then he was victim to a scandalous punch from Abraham. I feel sorry to say that Jermaine is the victim of traumatising violence. Poor guy

Blame Abel if you want but it was ggg who said it and then he changed his mind and wanted a catchweight. You can make excuses as to why but at that point Ward was a super 6 winner and ggg hadn’t yet fought canelo and biggest fight to date was Lemieux. Asking for more than 50/50 is another way to duck the fight in addition to the catchweight. So while canelo was ducking ggg, ggg was ducking Ward.

As for Froch, he punked out. On one end you want to say that ggg deserved more than 50/50 for Ward and then on the other end want to say that he wasn’t a big enough fight for Froch who got his ass handed to him by Ward. You’re quite the simpleton. You think Chavez jr, post Sergio Martinez and back to back fights with Brian Vera was a more meaningful fight than ggg back then for Froch?
