The likely outcome of Ryan Garcia's PED case

I would imagine, with the current data at hand and taking into play the financial backing that Garcia has to provide legally, he'll probably be cleared of "intentional use" and concluded his two failed tests were due to supplement contamination, seems they may be going with the Ashwagandha route.

With the trace amounts found, the specific drug itself that he was popped for, the (ambiguous) hair samples provided, and what looks like the WBC's backing also, I'd expect a 6 month backdated ban and be eligible to fight as good as immediately, similar to Canelo's drug case, their cases are somewhat similar in regards to the trace amounts and likelihood of contamination, and their full pockets.

    But who knows, we'll see.

I think he gets suspended for less than a year. 6-9mos probably.

Yeah about that, I predict 6 months backdated.

Probably gets a huge fight straight away as well.

What likely outcome? You mean it's not settled yet? What in hell am I missing? Will this be another silly Benn case in which these boards take years to make any decision?

            It's not even began.

The NYSAC are one of the better commissions with things like this so I'd imagine it will be relatively speedy, but he will have a hearing at some point in the near future, and then he and his legal team will present their evidence and he be given his outcome.

Why Benn's case took so long (and still is) is because the procedure is very different in the UK, over here all drug matters are regulated by UKAD, so when fighters protest their innocence, it becomes them vs UKAD. So Benn had his hearing with the BBBoC/UKAD and won that hearing and had his suspension lifted, that alone is an incredibly drawn out process that took almost a year to do, then, when BBBoC/UKAD lost they appealed that loss and then had another hearing and won that appeal, which took another 8 months or so. So that one is STILL on going because now Benn has lost the case (overturned on appeal), BBBoC and UKAD will now assumingly present him with a ban, how long that ban will be who knows but I'm assuming it will be a backdated one.

I'd imagine this case with Garcia will be a lot more speedy, and straight forward.

What about the result of his fight against Haney? Do you all think it remains, is changed into a NC, or overturned as a DQ? I think that if Ryan is cleared of intentionally cheating the result will remain.

I think almost guaranteed to be changed to an NC.

Could possibly be a DQ loss, like Lucian Bute got vs Badou Jack, where, coincidentally, Bute a failed test for the same drug; Ostarine.

I think the chances of it staying a W for Garcia is next to nil.

                  Does it matter?

There is no playoff spot at sake; no one is keeping score.

Except Boxrec and a couple of boxing geeks, i.e me and you.

Haney got beat and didn't look so good. Garcia got revitalized.

Both will have to negotiate their next fight off their performance in this one.

                    It matters entirely.

If the decision gets changed then Garcia no longer has a win over Haney.
