Usyk been a road warrior his entire career against all the top competition and has found ways to beat every one of them in their backyard, some more decisively than others. Finally getting his just due on a broader scale when he's been great his entire career. He's most likely a future HOFer, but if he can knock off Fury again in the rematch, there is no way he can be denied a spot in Canastota with all his achievements.

Only “most likely” a HOFer? Usyk secured HOF status a long time ago and arguably before he even moved to HW, having won all of his cruiserweight titles on the road against world-class and primarily undefeated opposition to become the first undisputed CW champion in the four-belt era.

His double against AJ to become a unified champion in two divisions guaranteed he was a first-ballot lock. And now his victory against Fury while giving away 6 inches in height and 40 pounds in weight now puts him in the ATG discussion, never mind HOF.

If he retired right now he’d go into boxing lore as ATG legend… but hard to turn down 50+ million for 48 minutes.

He already is an ATG legend. History is very kind to smaller guys that come.up.in weight, especially those with an exciting style that put it all.on the line.

You don't conquer a division by beating a C-level fighter, a B-level fighter, one young and questionable A-grade fighter and two tops (even though some fans claim Fury is not a real top fighter). The reason is simple: there are plenty of cases where the best faced opponents who everyone was sure they would go through as a knife through butter but it happened just the opposite.

Yes he does. I thought it was a draw, watched it last night for scoring purposes and had the Fury of Tyson ahead by 4 points So all three judges had it wrong. Tyson was right when he said he felt he won because he did. Facts. Facts. I'll give the little Russian credit though, he fought better than I thought he would.

I'd advise Usyk to retire now. He has nothing left to prove in boxing. Few have the wisdom to retire at their peak. Why does he need even more money? In reality he KO'd Fury in round 9, Fury and the crooked little referee who blocked him not once but twice, both actually. And who knows what dirty tricks the kings and princes in The House of Saul's Arabia will conjure up next time so that they can get a lucrative 3rd match between them, because THEY have a never ending lust for more and more money.

Are fools and liars. If Usyk had a weak midsection he would have lost his very first fight years ago.

I still believe beating mandatories is a real test. They're fighters that you didn't pick for their ability or their style.

I do think that Usyk is unlikely to have a 'style' that's his kryptonite though. For him to lose it will be age, a big punch lands, an off night for him, or simply someone better comes along on the day.

I agree from top to bottom with this statement and share the exact same sentiment. It's really a no-brainer. But being that CW is a division that is oft not given much credit nor respected much being that it is not really promoted much here in the US despite having alot of very good/elite fighters over recent times from other countries, just feel like he might not be given the credit that he deserves for literally cleaning out the entire division. He's mainly known for beating Joshua 2× and Fury. True boxing purists know he is THAT dude and has been that dude for years. But who knows what standards the HOF guys be having if you get what I'm saying.

He is undisputed, but it would be better if he reigned as the champ for a while instead of just dropping the belts and retiring once he becomes undisputed. There is a fury rematch. There are also some guys in there like jared anderson, parker, filip hrgović, zhang and maybe even a wilder that he could fight.

In the ring both boxers seemed to know the contest was tight and neither seemed overly confident .What was proved is Usyk hasn't got anything left to prove(they both haven't) even though the decision was split and for me could of reasonably gone the other way , I understand what Fitzgerald saw at 113-114 in favour of Usyk and the 114-113 Metcarfe saw the other way - the other Judge was way out. It proved that Fury is the only one in the game with a chance against Usyk at this moment in time , but what this brutal top level thriller might of taken out of each of them only time will tell .I'm so glad for the sake of boxing that no man easily did away with the other , like the Spence , Crawford affair and IF there is to be a rematch a case can still be made for both winning.
